Goldman Sachs reduces holdings in Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs in the fourth quarter

Goldman Sachs' 13F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission shows that as of December 31, 2025, the firm held a total of 21.2 million shares of various Bitcoin spot ETFs, valued at approximately $1.06 billion, a decrease of 39.4% from the third quarter.

At the same time, the firm held about 40.7 million shares of Ethereum spot ETFs, worth approximately $1 billion, with a quarter-over-quarter decrease of 27.2%.

Additionally, Goldman Sachs added positions in XRP and Solana spot ETFs in the fourth quarter. By the end of last year, the firm held $152.2 million in XRP spot ETFs and $108.9 million in Solana spot ETFs.

The cryptocurrency market experienced an overall decline in the fourth quarter of last year, with Bitcoin prices dropping from $114,000 at the end of September to about $88,400 by year-end, while Ethereum prices fell from $4,140 to $2,970.
