According to Jinshi News, Chris Williamson, Chief Business Economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence, stated that the preliminary PMI index survey data for March indicates concerns over the slowdown in U.S. economic growth and rising inflation. Businesses report that uncertainty from conflicts and the cost of living have affected demand, while instability in financial markets and limitations on purchasing power have exacerbated the situation. The survey shows that consumer price inflation has risen to around 4%, suggesting that the U.S. may face the risk of stagflation, and the Federal Reserve needs to weigh the risks of rising inflation against weakening economic growth momentum.
