Meta returns to the stablecoin space, launching USDC payment features for select creators

According to Meta's official webpage, Meta has opened stablecoin payment features to some creators in Colombia and the Philippines, allowing them to receive USDC through the Solana and Polygon networks. Creators need to link a third-party crypto wallet address on the Facebook payment platform, and Meta does not provide USDC conversion to local fiat currency services. Tax reporting support related to crypto is provided by Stripe.

A Meta spokesperson stated that the company is exploring the possibility of incorporating stablecoins into payment options. This is the first time Meta has re-entered stablecoin payments since shutting down the Libra (Diem) project in 2022.
