U.S. Defense Secretary: Trump does not need to seek congressional approval to continue military actions against Iran
According to CCTV reports, on May 5 local time, U.S. Secretary of Defense Peter Hegseth stated that given the current administration's determination that the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is still in effect, President Trump does not need to seek congressional approval to continue military actions.
Hegseth insisted that if Trump orders the resumption of military strikes, discussions on related matters will naturally take place at that time.
