Hassett: Federal Reserve Chairman Powell may choose to resign after the release of the Inspector General's report
According to Jinshi reports. During an interview, Kevin Hassett, the director of the National Economic Council at the White House, was asked how long Powell would remain as a board member after Kevin Walsh takes over as the chairman of the Federal Reserve.
Hassett stated that he believes Powell might feel he can choose to step down after the Inspector General completes the investigation into the renovation project of the Federal Reserve building. Hassett said, "I guess the opportunity to leave might come when the Inspector General's report is released, and he is satisfied with the results of the investigation."
