Aave founder Stani: If central banks pay market interest rates on stablecoin reserves, a 30% deposit requirement is acceptable
Aave founder Stani stated that he could accept the reserve requirement if the Bank of England (BoE) is willing to pay market rates on the 30% of base assets that need to be held at the central bank for systemic stablecoins. Previously, the BoE proposed that part of the reserves for systemic stablecoins should be held at the central bank to reduce risk; Stani's statement focuses on whether the passive deposit rates can cover the opportunity cost of these "locked" assets.
