AWS CEO: AI may reshape half of white-collar jobs, but it will not lead to large-scale job losses

According to Business Insider, Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Matt Garman recently stated in an interview that concerns about AI causing mass unemployment are overstated. He believes that AI may change the way half of white-collar workers do their jobs, but just like the widespread adoption of Microsoft Excel, new technologies will reshape work while also creating new job opportunities, rather than directly eliminating positions.

In addition, Garman emphasized the important value of entry-level employees in the AI era, believing that they possess a stronger willingness to learn and adaptability. It is reported that Amazon will hire over 11,000 entry-level software development engineers and interns globally this year. Garman added that in the future, companies will find "learning ability" and "adaptability" more critical than the "existing specific skills" of applicants when hiring.
