Hashdex will close and liquidate a Bitcoin ETF managing $14.7 million in assets
Cryptocurrency asset management company Hashdex will close and liquidate its U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF, Hashdex Bitcoin ETF, which manages approximately $14.7 million in assets. The fund will stop trading and delist after the market closes on August 17. Shareholders still holding the fund are expected to receive cash distributions around August 28, which will occur after the fund sells its remaining Bitcoin holdings.
Hashdex stated that after the last trading day, the fund will liquidate its remaining Bitcoin holdings and will only engage in matters related to liquidation, preserving asset value, settling liabilities, and distributing remaining assets to shareholders. Hashdex indicated that it assessed the scale of managed assets, trading liquidity, operating costs, investor interest, and the fund's positioning within its overall product line before making the decision to liquidate. The company claims it still manages over $200 million in investment products aimed at U.S. investors.
