Iran has decided to allow some Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz

2026-08-22 15:16:44

During the visit of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf to Iraq, one of the most important demands that Iraq presented to Tehran was to issue special permits for Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. This request had previously been submitted to Iran multiple times through various channels. Despite Iran facing the most severe military actions and the security situation in the Strait of Hormuz deteriorating significantly due to U.S. hostile actions, Iran ultimately decided to grant permits for some Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
