Real Bedford secured $4.5 million in funding from the Winklevoss brothers, and fans can purchase tickets using Bitcoin
Bitcoin News posted on platform X stating that CNBC reported that a small football club in the UK, Real Bedford, aims to become a global Bitcoin brand.
Real Bedford was acquired by podcast host Peter McCormack in 2022 and has attracted fans from around the world, raising $4.5 million from Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss, allowing fans to purchase tickets, food, and merchandise using Bitcoin.
Some players and staff are paid partially or entirely in Bitcoin. The club's ultimate goal is to enter the English Football League, build a new stadium and youth academy, and demonstrate that the global Bitcoin community can help transform local clubs.
