Fractal Bitcoin completed its first halving and officially expanded to the Bitcoin mainnet
According to Fractal Bitcoin's latest tweet, Fractal Bitcoin completed its first halving at block height 2,100,000, and the FIP-102 proposal was officially activated. According to the official announcement, network nodes and indexing services operated smoothly after the halving.
This upgrade marks the official activation of the FIP-102 proposal, and the distribution of FB will expand from the Fractal network to the Bitcoin mainnet, providing a direct path for a broader Bitcoin user base to access FB. After the activation of FIP-102, the actual block reward on the Fractal side further decreases to 6.25 FB, with an additional 6.25 FB issuance budget being redirected to the Bitcoin mainnet. FIP-102 does not increase the total supply of FB, and the block rewards for joint mining, free mining, and indexing mining on the Fractal side will still be distributed at a ratio of 1:1:1. The specific distribution mechanism for the Bitcoin mainnet will be clarified in the subsequent FIP-103, with the goal of launching in the first quarter of 2027.
