BabyDoge acquires the file-sharing platform LimeWire

File sharing platform LimeWire announced that the Web3 ecosystem BabyDoge has acquired LimeWire, with the financial terms of the deal undisclosed. Co-founders Julian Zehetmayr and Paul Zehetmayr, who have rebuilt LimeWire's technological foundation over the past five years, officially hand over the reins to Abel Czupor and BabyDoge.

Abel Czupor stated that Julian and Paul built the infrastructure used by approximately 8 million people monthly. As part of the acquisition, LMWR will become the native utility token of the LimeWire platform, used for decentralized file storage and platform AI tools among other services. The updated LimeWire Network product roadmap is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

BabyDoge claims its community has over 3 million users and has set a Guinness World Record related to animal charity donations. LimeWire was rebuilt and relaunched in 2022, stating that it has no affiliation with the original Lime Wire LLC or Lime Group LLC.
