NEAR: MyNearWallet will cease operations on October 31

NEAR Protocol officially announced that MyNearWallet will cease operations on October 31. NEAR stated that user assets are stored on-chain, and after the service stops, users will still need to manage their assets through a new access method, and it is recommended that users migrate their assets to the new accounts they recommend.

NEAR mentioned that the new accounts support exchanges, payments, and other operations across more than 30 chains, come with built-in privacy protection, and can be controlled via a passkey. The official team also released a migration step guide, as well as a timeline for MyNearWallet and a FAQ section.

Before migrating, NEAR recommends testing the process with a small amount of assets first, and each time, operations should be done through the recharge entry of the connected wallet, as the recharge address is for one-time use and cannot be reused for transfers to the same address; assets should be migrated one by one and wait for completion, keeping the MyNearWallet recovery information until the balance in the new account is fully received. The NEAR Foundation, MyNearWallet, and support staff will not ask for mnemonic phrases, recovery phrases, or private keys.
