Reuters survey: 100 economists unanimously expect the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates in December
A Reuters survey shows that 100 surveyed economists expect the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates in December 2026, while action may be paused in October.
Among them, 94 expect that by the end of 2026, the federal funds rate will rise to 4.00% - 4.25%. In contrast, in the September survey, only 29 economists held this expectation out of 76 respondents.
