S&P adjusts the classification rules for growth stocks and value stocks
The S&P Dow Jones Indices has adjusted the rules for classifying stocks into growth and value categories, incorporating intangible assets, expected earnings, and free cash flow as evaluation factors. The new rules will take effect before the market opens on December 21, potentially forcing funds that track the relevant indices to adjust their holdings. At least $375 billion in passive fund assets are linked to the affected indices.
