Zhao Changpeng clarifies the SPCX holding controversy: has never indicated a desire to sell, believes it is worth holding long-term

Zhao Changpeng posted on platform X in response to discussions related to SPCX stock, stating that he has never indicated a desire to sell SPCX stock. The previous mention of holding the stock was because related posts compared Binance to FTX, which might lead outsiders to mistakenly believe that Binance lacks funds. What he actually wanted to express is that Binance holds other assets in addition to cryptocurrency assets.

Zhao Changpeng also stated that the scale of the relevant assets held by Binance is merely a drop in the ocean for the counterpart and cannot pose a threat. He mentioned that SPCX will still be a quality stock worth holding long-term for a long time to come. He simultaneously urged the public not to describe this matter as a confrontation and that there is no need to deliberately create divisions.

Previously, Zhao Changpeng responded to Musk's comments about Binance being hacked, stating: "I have great respect for you, but now is not the time for jokes. Our SPCX stock (from our $500 million investment in your acquisition of Twitter) is now worth over a billion dollars. I would greatly appreciate it if you could show a bit of support."
