The Ministry of Finance of South Korea held a seminar for semiconductor experts, and AI demand has not shown signs of shrinking
According to a report by the Korean News Agency, following the U.S. midterm elections, concerns regarding AI data center regulation have intensified, leading to fluctuations in the stock market. In this context, the South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance held a seminar with semiconductor experts to examine trends in the relevant industries and future demand prospects.
Participants conducted a comprehensive assessment and concluded that, considering the progress of major AI companies' large-scale investments and future plans, as well as the expansion of semiconductor demand brought about by the proliferation of intelligent AI, the medium- to long-term growth expectations for the AI and semiconductor industries remain valid. They noted that despite some concerns in the financial markets, no significant signals have been detected that would lead to a contraction in AI investment or semiconductor demand. Furthermore, taking into account factors such as the expansion of long-term supply contracts for domestic semiconductor companies in South Korea, it is expected that the demand base will remain stable in the short term.
