Research: Half of the Solana presale tokens launched from November last year to February this year were malicious
ChainCatcher news, according to Unchained Crypto, based on data shared by the blockchain security company Blockaid, 50% of the presale tokens launched in the Solana ecosystem from last November to this February were malicious. The data highlights two key factors that have helped scams proliferate in the Solana ecosystem.Ido Ben-Natan, co-founder of Blockaid, stated that first, the popularity of legitimate meme coins drove an exponential increase in the number of presale tokens in February and March, providing fertile ground for scammers; additionally, scammers are adept at exploiting users' FOMO emotions, employing sophisticated strategies such as mimicking legitimate transactions and creating deceptive websites. These findings underscore the need for enhanced security measures in the Solana ecosystem. As this research was released, the performance of Solana in processing transactions was affected due to the popularity of meme coins and the large volume of spam sent to the blockchain network by programmatic trading bots.
