Securitize appoints former PayPal executive as General Counsel, preparing for SPAC listing
The asset tokenization company Securitize announced the hiring of former PayPal digital asset legal head Jerome Roche as General Counsel to prepare the company for its listing on Nasdaq through a SPAC under Cantor Fitzgerald.The merger is expected to give Securitize a valuation of $1.25 billion and trade under the ticker SECZ. Securitize plans to tokenize its own equity and is the issuer of BlackRock's on-chain treasury fund BUIDL. Roche stated that his professional focus is at the "intersection of regulatory compliance and technological innovation."
