UK financial regulators team up with Nvidia to provide a safe sandbox for banks' AI experiments
ChainCatcher news, according to CNBC, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced on Monday a partnership with American chipmaker Nvidia (NVDA.O) to jointly build a regulatory sandbox environment that allows banks to safely experiment with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.The agency stated that starting in October, UK financial institutions will be able to conduct AI experiments using Nvidia's accelerated computing platform and AI enterprise software products. This innovative program, called "Supercharged Sandbox," is specifically aimed at financial institutions in the exploration and experimentation phase of AI. The FCA emphasized that for more mature AI application scenarios, the authorities have also set up live testing services. "The collaboration will help those institutions with AI ideas but lacking implementation capabilities," said Jessica Rusu, FCA's Chief Data Officer. "We will assist businesses in harnessing AI technology while safeguarding market and consumer rights and promoting economic growth."
