hyperliquid

Hyperliquid is a high-performance L1 platform. Its vision is a fully on-chain open financial system where user-built applications connect with high-performance native components, all without affecting the end-user experience. The performance of Hyperliquid L1 is sufficient to run an entire permissionless financial application ecosystem—every order, cancellation, trade, and settlement occurs transparently on-chain, with block delays of less than 1 second. The flagship native application is a fully on-chain order book perpetual exchange, Hyperliquid DEX.

first_img D3 launched the Frontier Hyperliquid Vault, with Hyperion DeFi as the launch partner

Domain infrastructure company D3 announced the launch of the Frontier Hyperliquid Vault, a membership program that provides participants with priority access to a new round of top-level internet domains. Nasdaq-listed Hyperion DeFi (NASDAQ: HYPD) is listed as the launch partner for the vault. D3 is a core contributor to the Doma Protocol and one of the few ICANN-accredited Web3 registrars, with investors including Paradigm. At the launch of the program, ICANN opened the second round of new top-level domain applications in internet history in August 2026, receiving over 1,600 applications covering suffixes such as .agent, .crypto, .wallet, .sol, .robot, and .hype is also included in this round of applications. The last expansion occurred in 2012, resulting in approximately 1,200 new top-level domains, which are now used by tens of millions of websites. The participation process is as follows: users deposit qualified assets with supported custodians on Solana and Hyperliquid to earn Frontier Points, and then gain priority in registering domain names by committing points before formal registration. As part of the initial commitment, Hyperion DeFi will receive a distribution of DOMA tokens in future potential token generation events based on incentive arrangements with the Doma Foundation. The Doma Protocol is a DNS-compatible blockchain aimed at tokenizing the domain market, which is valued at approximately $36 billion.

first_img Ripple Prime launched a 24-hour stock swap, HSBC warns of insufficient liquidity

Ripple's brokerage business Ripple Prime (formerly Hidden Road) announced that institutional clients can now trade swap contracts linked to over 100 stocks, commodities, and foreign exchange markets around the clock, using the USD stablecoin RLUSD issued by Ripple as collateral. These swap contracts track perpetual futures listed on the cryptocurrency derivatives exchange Hyperliquid by Trade.xyz, which have no expiration date and can be traded 24/7, allowing funds to build positions in assets like gold while traditional markets are closed. Ripple announced on October 15 that trading company Virtu is already using this service.HSBC's head of digital asset research, Daragh Maher, stated in a report sent to clients on Monday that this launch is "evolution rather than revolution." He wrote that it is a rapidly growing market but still far smaller than the traditional financial markets it tracks, and the product's appeal will be stronger only when the market has sufficient depth, allowing investors to express views and adjust risks while traditional markets are closed. HSBC expects early activity to focus on market makers, proprietary traders, and hedge funds seeking basis trading, rather than institutions looking for strategic hedging. The risks of weekend trading have already become apparent. Last Saturday, approximately $52 million in leveraged chip stock positions were forcibly liquidated within 10 minutes, with the sell-off spreading from Binance to Hyperliquid, while the underlying stocks were not trading, and the contracts lacked new stock market prices for reference. HSBC stated that Ripple's success depends on whether the service is cheaper, simpler, and can better utilize client collateral compared to existing brokers. The new swap business is offered under Ripple Prime's British Virgin Islands license, with plans to expand to more jurisdictions in the future.

first_img Cryptocurrency research institution Delphi Digital: Speculation is the theme of this decade, and one should hold clearinghouses

On October 20, 2026, Jason Pagoulatos, a macro and market author at the cryptocurrency research institution Delphi Digital, released a report titled "The House Always Wins: Why Speculation is the Theme of This Decade." Pagoulatos stated that speculation has two long-term engines: constructive and lottery-like. Technological changes open the former, while fiscal and political pressures open the latter; historically, many famous bubbles have been driven by one or the other. Today, both are operating at high speed simultaneously, and the same batch of technologies is feeding both. He thus considers speculation itself as an investable theme, advocating for holding places for liquidation bets rather than holding the bets themselves. The data cited in the report includes that the U.S. federal deficit for fiscal year 2025 is $1.8 trillion, about 5.8% of GDP, with net interest around $1 trillion per year, exceeding defense spending. The Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies states that the national median price for single-family homes in 2024 is 5.0 times the median household income; the National Association of Realtors reports that first-time homebuyers account for 21% of transactions, with a median age of 40. According to the American Gaming Association, legal sports betting amounts have risen from $6.6 billion in 2018 to $166.9 billion in 2025. Capital expenditures for Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta are approximately $416 billion for 2025, with guidance for 2026 totaling about $720 billion to $745 billion, plus Oracle. In terms of venues, Robinhood's event contract revenue for Q2 2026 is $156 million, higher than stock revenue of $129 million and crypto revenue of $100 million during the same period. Hyperliquid's expenses for 2025 are about $972 million, with transactions around $3 trillion. Kalshi reportedly raised funds at a valuation of about $40 billion, and Polymarket is set to relaunch in the U.S. by the end of 2025. The author also mentions that the most likely mistake is to hold inventory of the crowd and call it a casino. The report states that it is for educational and general informational purposes only and is not investment advice; the author may hold Bitcoin, HYPE, HOOD, and LIT, and affiliated party Delphi Ventures may invest in the assets or agreements discussed in the report.

Bitwise and Hyperliquid request the SEC to amend cryptocurrency regulations: focusing on token classification, airdrops, and secondary market trading

The asset management company Bitwise Asset Management and the Hyperliquid Policy Center submitted a comment letter to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), requesting modifications to the proposed cryptocurrency rules to clarify token classification, airdrops, and secondary market trading rules. The SEC's proposed Regulation Crypto Assets would establish exemptions for eligible cryptocurrency financing and provide a conditional safe harbor for tokens related to investment contracts.Bitwise requested clarification on the standards for investment managers to determine whether tokens are subject to securities laws. The Hyperliquid Policy Center called for an expansion of the safe harbor scope and clarification of the rules for airdrops and token buybacks that reward network participants. The organization also requested that the SEC clarify whether unregistered intermediaries can facilitate token trading and whether tokens can be freely traded through on-chain protocols. Former SEC enforcement official John Reed Stark and Duke University finance scholar Lee Reiners called for the proposal to be withdrawn, arguing that it exceeds the SEC's statutory authority and undermines investor protection. The SEC will decide to amend, adopt, or withdraw the rules after the public comment period ends, and the final rules must be voted on by the commission before taking effect.
