According to The Block, the cryptocurrency custody company Taurus has obtained a MiFID II investment license granted by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, allowing it to provide MiFID-regulated investment services for tokenized financial instruments to banks and asset management companies across the EU, as well as secondary trading of tokenized bonds, fund shares, stocks, and structured products.

According to The Block, Kraken's derivatives head Alexia Theodorou stated that the cryptocurrency trading platform will now allow traders to use cryptocurrencies as collateral on its MiFID-regulated EU derivatives platform. This move will further enhance Kraken's business layout in the EU.The trading platform launched derivatives trading services across the EU in May this year. Theodorou mentioned that this update also helps Kraken solidify its position as "the largest perpetual contract trading platform in Europe." She added during the call, "When we obtained MiFID regulatory approval in Europe, there was no MiCA in effect, and no regulated European crypto custodians were operational. Therefore, we reached an agreement with regulators that at that stage we could not offer cryptocurrency collateral services to clients under the European regulatory framework."

According to The Block, Kraken has announced that its EU MiFID-regulated derivatives platform now supports users using crypto assets as collateral. Previously, only fiat collateral was allowed.This expansion is based on its MiCA license obtained from the Central Bank of Ireland and its MiFID qualification in Cyprus, aiming to provide more flexible leveraged trading options within a compliant framework to meet the strong demand from institutional clients for crypto-native products.

ChainCatcher news, according to Coindesk, the cryptocurrency trading platform Crypto.com has acquired Allnew Investments to obtain a license to offer derivatives trading services in the European Economic Area (EEA).The trading platform announced on its official website that the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has issued a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) license to Allnew. This license authorizes the trading platform to offer a range of financial products in 27 EU countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

An agreement has been reached, and the deal is pending regulatory approval.
