The judge denied the SEC's motion for an interlocutory appeal regarding the Ripple ruling
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, District Judge Analisa Torres has denied the motion for an interlocutory appeal filed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regarding the ruling in the Ripple case, stating that the agency has not demonstrated that the appeal would "substantially advance the ultimate termination of the litigation."
In an order on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Torres stated, "For the reasons stated above, the motion for certification of the interlocutory appeal requested by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is denied, and the SEC's request for a stay is also denied as it lacks practical significance." The trial is scheduled for April 23, 2024. Torres indicated that Ripple and the SEC are expected to submit pre-trial documents by the end of this year.
Previous news, the SEC filed a motion for an interlocutory appeal regarding the ruling in the Ripple case, noting in the documents that its arguments primarily focus on the sales of XRP rather than the asset itself.
