ChainCatcher news, despite Trump being convicted on May 30, 2024, users on the on-chain prediction market Polymarket still expect him to win the election this November, with his current support rate on the platform at 55%, while Biden's support rate is at 39%, and the betting amount is close to $145 million.

It is understood that the U.S. Constitution does not explicitly prohibit convicted felons from running for or holding the presidency. Although Trump's conviction could lead to a maximum of four years in prison, it is widely believed that he will avoid incarceration for non-violent crimes.

Earlier reports indicated that former U.S. President Donald J. Trump was convicted of at least one felony in a criminal case involving alleged hush money payments to a porn star on the eve of the 2016 election. He is the first U.S. president to be declared a felon, a stain that will accompany him as he seeks re-election.
