ChainCatcher news, according to reports from Wu, a recent table regarding the Bitcoin holdings of various governments has been widely circulated, claiming that the Chinese government holds 194,000 Bitcoins from PlusToken.

According to previous investigations, this claim is incorrect. After communicating with several OTC firms, it was found that a large portion of these Bitcoins was sold between the end of 2019 and mid-2020, when the BTC price ranged from $7,000 to $12,000. The statement in the judgment that "the funds and profits obtained shall be confiscated and turned over to the national treasury" somewhat corroborates this claim. On-chain data also shows that the vast majority of the Bitcoins have long been sold through Huobi.
