Economists: Powell may lack information on the impact of tariffs on inflation
ChainCatcher news, Natixis economist Benito Berber stated that Federal Reserve Chairman Powell may have little to say about the impact of tariffs on inflation, as goods shipped from China have not yet landed on the U.S. market since "D-Day."
Berber expects the inflation impact to become apparent in June, and anticipates that the Federal Reserve will remain inactive until September, at which point it will begin to cut interest rates and continue until 2026.
