Binance Alpha points reach 193, and consuming 15 points can obtain 1000 MERL airdrop
According to the official page, Binance Alpha has launched MERL (MERL). Eligible Binance users who hold at least 193 Alpha points can claim 1000 MERL airdrop tokens starting from May 20, 2025, at 9:00 UTC on the Alpha event page. The claiming operation will consume 15 Alpha points, and users must complete the confirmation within 24 hours (i.e., by May 21, 2025, at 9:00 UTC), otherwise, it will be considered a waiver of the claim.
In addition, the Binance Alpha platform has launched a trading competition for Merlin (MERL). During the event, users trading Merlin using Binance Wallet or the Binance Alpha platform can earn exclusive token rewards. The event runs from May 20, 2025, at 17:00 to June 3, 2025, at 19:00. During the event, the top 10,000 users by the number of MERL tokens purchased will share 9,840,000 MERL tokens (984 MERL per user).
Binance will launch AGTUSDT perpetual contract
According to the official announcement, Binance will launch the AGTUSDT perpetual contract on May 20, 2025, at 10:30 (UTC), with a maximum leverage of 50 times. This contract supports a multi-asset model, with funding rates settled every 4 hours, and an initial maximum funding rate of ±2.00%.
Binance seeks to dismiss FTX's $1.76 billion recovery lawsuit, claiming it has "legal flaws"
According to Decrypt, Binance has requested the Delaware bankruptcy court to dismiss the $1.76 billion recovery lawsuit filed by FTX, claiming it is "legally unfounded" and accusing FTX's collapse of being due to "one of the largest corporate frauds in history" led by its founder Sam Bankman-Fried, rather than Binance's actions.
FTX filed the lawsuit last November to recover $1.76 billion in crypto assets transferred during a stock buyback in July 2021, claiming that FTX was insolvent at the time and misappropriated customer funds to complete the transaction.
Binance rebutted that FTX continued to operate for 16 months after the transaction, and that Zhao Changpeng's tweet on November 6, 2022, to liquidate FTT holdings was not false or misleading.
Binance Alpha will launch TOKYO GAMES TOKEN (TGT)
According to the official announcement, Binance Alpha will launch TOKYO GAMES TOKEN (TGT), with trading opening on May 21. Eligible users need to use Binance Alpha points to claim the airdrop on the Alpha event page, which will announce the event rules on May 21.

David Sacks, the White House cryptocurrency and AI director, commented on the passage of the "GENIUS Stablecoin Act" procedural motion in the Senate today, stating, "This legislation creates a legal framework for stablecoins, which is a significant victory for the cryptocurrency sector. The bill will now enter the full Senate voting phase. Thanks to Senator Bill Hagerty, who successfully garnered over 60 votes in support of the GENIUS Act."
Earlier news reported that the U.S. Senate voted to pass the "cloture motion" for the formal consideration of the "GENIUS Stablecoin Act," with at least 15 Democratic senators changing their votes to support, including Cortez Masto, Adam Schiff, Mark Warner, and others. The bill will now enter the comprehensive review process, and it has only passed the "cloture motion," while the bill itself has not yet been passed. The "GENIUS Act" will next enter the debate and amendment phase in the Senate.
GENIUS stablecoin bill passed the Senate procedural vote 66 to 32
According to Eleanor Terrett, the GENIUS stablecoin bill was ultimately passed with a vote of 66 to 32 to terminate debate on the GENIUS stablecoin bill, marking the official start of the bill's review process, but the bill itself has not yet been passed.
