Besant: The U.S. Treasury is globally tracking Iranian assets

2026-08-01 22:22:42

According to Jinshi reports, on July 31 local time, U.S. Treasury Secretary Becerra stated at a cabinet meeting in Camp David, Maryland, that the Treasury Department is continuing its economic offensive against Iran as directed by President Trump and is tracking Iranian assets globally.

He mentioned that after advancing related actions in March 2025, Iran's largest private bank declared bankruptcy, and the central bank was forced to print a large amount of money, leading to rising inflation. Becerra claimed that Iran is now even unable to pay military salaries.
