U.S. officials: The agreement on the Strait of Hormuz is expected to be "reached soon."
Reuters reported on the 7th, citing a U.S. official, that negotiations between Iran and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz have "made progress" and that an agreement is "expected to be reached soon." The official stated that once the agreement is reached, commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz will resume, and the U.S. will lift its maritime blockade on Iran. The official also reiterated that U.S. actions will continue to be based on the actual situation of Iran fulfilling its commitments.
