The Global Cybersecurity Alliance (GCSA) and the Academy of Engineering and Technology for Developing World (AETDEW) jointly established the AI Cybersecurity Research Center
On August 5, 2026, the Global Cybersecurity Alliance (GCSA) and the Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World (AETDEW) signed a cooperation agreement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, officially establishing a strategic partnership and jointly founding an AI Cybersecurity Research Center.

The research center will combine AETDEW's leadership in engineering and technology with GCSA's expertise in AI cybersecurity to establish an international research cooperation and capacity-building platform. Both parties will promote AI cybersecurity research, professional talent training, technology exchange, achievement transformation, and international collaboration, facilitating cooperation among governments, industries, academia, research institutions, and international organizations.
His Excellency Kabiné Komara, former Prime Minister of Guinea and Senior Advisor on International Finance and Security Governance, and Dr. Moneef R. Zou'bi from the New York Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Art and Science (Academician) delivered speeches on behalf of GCSA.
Academician Dato' Ir. Dr. Lee Yee Cheong, founding president of AETDEW, and Ir. Ts. Choo Kok Beng FASc, president of AETDEW and Academician of the Malaysian Academy of Sciences, attended the signing ceremony.
His Excellency Kabiné Komara stated, "Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the global digital landscape, while also bringing new challenges to cybersecurity. We look forward to the research center becoming a bridge for global cooperation, gathering expertise from around the world to enhance cybersecurity capabilities and build a trustworthy and resilient digital future."
Dr. Moneef R. Zou'bi remarked, "Artificial intelligence is not only changing the way we defend cyberspace but also reshaping the nature of cyber threats, the foundation of digital trust, and the security of critical infrastructure. AETDEW and GCSA will work together to advance cutting-edge research, strengthen talent training, and accelerate the transformation of research achievements into practical applications."
Both parties will pay special attention to the practical needs of developing countries and emerging economies in the process of digital development, promoting the coordinated development of cybersecurity capabilities and digital infrastructure construction. The research center will support secure, trustworthy, and sustainable digital transformation through knowledge sharing, applied research, and pragmatic cooperation.
This cooperation marks the beginning of long-term collaboration between GCSA and AETDEW. Both parties will use the AI Cybersecurity Research Center as a platform to promote the deep integration of engineering technology and cybersecurity expertise, jointly addressing the evolving cybersecurity challenges of the AI era.
