Bitget provides public welfare network services for remote areas through the Starlink program
ChainCatcher news, Bitget announced the improvement of network infrastructure in remote areas of the Philippines through the satellite internet deployed by the Starlink program. The first coverage points include Espoir School of Life on Siargao Island and Barangay Pitogo. The program introduces Starlink satellite equipment, providing six months of free high-speed internet to local areas, aiming to address issues such as insufficient educational resources and poor communication. Bitget stated that in the future, it will further provide skill training and resource support for local students and women's cooperatives through its "Blockchain4Youth" and "Blockchain4Her" projects.Previously, due to infrastructure limitations, local residents mainly relied on microwave radio frequency communication, which resulted in frequent network interruptions and slow speeds, making it difficult to meet basic needs such as online learning and telemedicine. The satellite network access will improve these issues and provide more stable information services to the local community.
