first_img Mesh collaborates with Visa, allowing encrypted balances to be spent at 175 million merchants

Cryptocurrency payment infrastructure company Mesh announced a partnership with Visa, allowing users to directly spend their cryptocurrency and stablecoin balances from participating wallet applications at over 175 million merchant locations worldwide. This integration supports both offline and online payments through Visa credentials configured in the backend, with Mesh responsible for transaction fund transfers and currency conversion, so users do not need to sell or transfer assets in advance.Bam Azizi, CEO and co-founder of Mesh, stated that cryptocurrency has never been a consumption issue, but rather a "last mile" problem, and previously solving this issue meant needing to obtain a separate card. Mesh handles fund transfers and conversions, allowing balances to be converted into purchasing power at the moment of payment, without users needing to transfer any assets, and merchants not needing to make any changes. The specific launch date of this partnership, supported devices, and participating platforms have not yet been announced.Mesh is a cryptocurrency payment infrastructure company that previously supported the launch of PayPal's "Pay with Crypto" service. In August 2025, institutions such as PayPal Ventures and Coinbase Ventures raised Mesh's total funding to over $130 million. In January of this year, Mesh completed a $75 million Series C funding round led by Dragonfly, entering the unicorn ranks. This partnership is also Visa's latest initiative to continuously integrate cryptocurrency assets into its merchant network, having previously engaged in similar collaborations with WeFi, Bridge, and others.

first_img The cryptocurrency payment platform Mesh announced the acquisition of Bluvo

On October 13, the cryptocurrency payment platform Mesh announced the acquisition of exchange connectivity technology developer Bluvo to accelerate the construction of its global payment network. Bluvo co-founders Florian Sabani and Luca Dalla Chiara have joined Mesh as Senior Software Engineer and Head of Exchange Partnerships, respectively. The acquisition price and transaction terms were not disclosed in the announcement.Mesh CEO and co-founder Bam Azizi stated that the next phase of finance should allow user funds to flow on demand, without having to consider the starting chain, exchanges, wallets, or currencies. Mesh has spent six years building this network and hopes to become the relevant standard. He believes that Sabani and Dalla Chiara see the same direction, which is why they chose to build together rather than proceed in parallel.Dalla Chiara mentioned that they have been dealing with connectivity issues from the exchange side for many years, and the related opportunities are greater than any single integration. Mesh already has scalable coverage, which will allow for faster progress after the merger. Sabani stated that with over 300 integrations, the challenge is not to connect once but to maintain reliability each time, with the goal of higher availability and lower complexity. Mesh was founded in 2020 and claims to have connected over 300 exchanges and wallets through a single integration.

Executives from World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a cryptocurrency project supported by the Trump family, revealed at the stablecoin-themed roundtable forum during the Token2049 conference in Singapore that they plan to introduce USD1 stablecoin payments to large online merchants. WLFI CEO Zach Witkoff attended alongside co-founder Zak Folkman and Bam Azizi, co-founder and CEO of payment infrastructure provider Mesh. Azizi announced that Mesh has partnered with WLFI, allowing USD1 holders to spend the stablecoin within Mesh's merchant network, with related features set to launch this quarter.Folkman stated that in addition to World Liberty's own application, the team plans to promote the same technology to some of the largest Web2 enterprises in the market. USD1 is issued by BitGo, with reserves including cash, U.S. government money market funds, and other cash equivalents, designed to maintain a 1 dollar peg. According to CoinGecko data, its market capitalization is approximately 4.45 billion dollars. In August, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) granted conditional approval for WLFI to establish a national trust bank, which is intended for issuing dollar-backed stablecoins and custodial services for digital assets. Witkoff stated that this move will enable WLFI to assume the issuance responsibilities of USD1, which is currently managed by BitGo.

FTC approves Musk's acquisition of Mesh antitrust application, involving AI data center optical network layout

According to the latest disclosure by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Musk has obtained antitrust approval for the acquisition of the optical network startup Mesh Optical Technologies, which means the FTC has completed a rapid antitrust review and will not challenge the transaction on competitive grounds, clearing a major regulatory hurdle for the advancement of the deal. However, it has not yet been disclosed whether the transaction has been signed or completed.Mesh was founded by former SpaceX engineers, and its core product is optical transceivers for AI data centers, which can improve energy efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance reliability compared to traditional network hardware, in order to meet the demand for millions of optical connections brought about by the growth of AI computing clusters. The founding team was involved in the development of the laser communication system for SpaceX's Starlink satellite network and plans to deploy optical communication technology into space in the future, adapting to the inter-satellite laser communication needs of orbital data centers and AI satellite networks. The company completed over $50 million in financing led by Thrive Capital in February of this year.Acquiring Mesh is one of SpaceX's initiatives to strengthen the competitiveness of large-scale computing clusters. Currently, SpaceX has listed AI computing power as a core business segment, and its xAI has been operating a total of approximately 1GW computing power with the Colossus and Colossus II training clusters, making it the first company to deploy coherent gigawatt-level AI training clusters; among them, Colossus II will add over 400MW of computing power and introduce over 220,000 GB300 chips. It has signed computing power cooperation agreements with Anthropic, Google, Reflection AI, and others, directly competing with large-scale cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. This year, SpaceX has also reached a Terafab chip manufacturing plan with Tesla and Intel, extending its vertical integration capabilities in chip design and manufacturing. In the past week, SpaceX's stock price ended its upward trend, closing at $153.23 per share, down over 32% from its peak of $225.64 per share.

NeuroMesh completed a $5 million strategic round of financing to promote the development of embodied intelligence through a decentralized "collective brain."

Recently, NeuroMesh, focused on embodied intelligence, announced the completion of a $5 million strategic financing round, with a post-investment valuation of $50 million. This round of financing was jointly invested by Alpha Capital and Coinvestor Ventures.NeuroMesh is dedicated to providing edge intelligence solutions for robots and smart devices. Through its device-side intelligent stack, it enables robots to achieve real-time perception, planning, and execution without relying on the cloud. Meanwhile, the experiences gained by machines during learning will be synchronized to a decentralized "collective brain," achieving continuous evolution and shared learning through network effects. This model allows the learning outcomes among agents to be verifiable and accumulative, driving the entire network to become increasingly intelligent. NeuroMesh's goal is to build a truly native, verifiable, and shared autonomous intelligent world, making decentralized machine intelligence the infrastructure for the next generation of human-machine collaboration. It is reported that the funds from this round will be used to accelerate technology research and development, expand the team size, and further explore the implementation of applications in industrial automation, service robots, and other scenarios.
