first_img The computing power platform Itô has joined Jump Trading, responsible for computing power trading business

The computing power and inference cost trading platform Itô co-founder Affaan announced that the Itô team has joined the trading company Jump Trading, responsible for its computing power trading business. Affaan and co-founder Alejandro stated that the team will lead the newly established internal computing power trading desk at Jump Trading and has begun trading in this emerging market.According to their introduction, Itô initially hoped to leverage the new contract market to help enterprises address the centralized AI supply chain risks that the existing system struggles to cover. After communicating with over a thousand funds, enterprises, venture capital institutions, and related practitioners, the team focused on the intermediate market for computing power and inference costs. They noted that the common contract duration for capacity is 3 to 5 years, with about 30% requiring prepayment, while the revenue for late seed round to Series C companies is mostly settled monthly and based on usage, and the secondary market prices for popular chips are also quite volatile.Affaan also mentioned that the total contract value for related medium market clusters sometimes ranges from hundreds of millions to several hundred million dollars. Itô previously built a platform as an end buyer, with team members' backgrounds including Goldman Sachs' credit basket business, open-source engineering tools, and supercomputing cluster research. They stated that Jump Trading's conditions in credit, risk control, trading experience, and hardware led them to choose to advance this business through an internal trading desk.

first_img The funding gap for Bitcoin mining companies is about 50 billion USD, and the borrowing costs for IREN and others are diverging

According to the Miner Weekly briefing published by BlocksBridge Consulting, Bitcoin mining companies expanding into the fields of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing are facing significantly different borrowing costs, with lenders increasingly scrutinizing large data center projects. The briefing points out that securing large AI clients is only part of the challenge; mining companies also need to raise billions of dollars to purchase computing power equipment, build data centers, and ensure the power infrastructure required for contract fulfillment. BlocksBridge indicates that large lending institutions have become more selective about data center loans, with decisions increasingly depending on client qualifications, contract terms, and project completion paths. The transition from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure by IREN reflects the differences in financing costs: the company secured $3.65 billion in GPU financing in June at a blended interest rate of 6%; in August, it completed another $2.4 billion financing with a fixed interest rate of 9%. The two agreements correspond to different projects and are not directly comparable, but they show that even within the same company, borrowing costs can vary significantly. Financing arrangements may also incur costs beyond interest; in another transaction involving Cipher Digital, Google guaranteed a $1.4 billion lease obligation in exchange for warrants representing a 5.4% equity stake in Cipher, with exercising the warrants potentially diluting existing shareholder equity. The rise in financing demand highlights the overall challenges mining companies face in entering the AI market. Data from VanEck shows that during the peak of the Bitcoin bull market in October last year, mining company debt surged by approximately 500% compared to the second quarter of 2024.

first_img Ark Invest maintains a bullish outlook on Bitcoin for the next five years, stablecoins change the narrative in emerging markets

According to Bitcoin Magazine, Lorenzo Valente, the Director of Digital Asset Research at Ark Invest, stated in a video interview with Bitcoin Magazine that despite Bitcoin's lackluster performance and even decline this year, Ark Invest has not changed its long-term view, still considering Bitcoin over a five-year cycle and believing its development is still in the early stages. He also introduced Ark's Big Ideas report and discussed Bitcoin's role as digital gold and a permissionless currency.Valente pointed out that the rise of stablecoins has changed Ark's judgment on the emerging market Bitcoin narrative. He also talked about the rise of tokenized stocks and real-world assets, as well as the functionalities that tokenized stocks can achieve that traditional brokerage accounts cannot.Additionally, he mentioned the impact of rising interest rates, inflation, and AI on Bitcoin's macro outlook, and explored which tokenized business models will ultimately prevail, as well as the possibility of tokenizing U.S. assets for offshore markets.Regarding the market outlook, Valente provided Ark's perspective on Bitcoin's future over the next 12 to 18 months and discussed the four-year cycle and key points to watch moving forward. Ark's Big Ideas report set a Bitcoin price target for 2030, and the reasons why institutional funds are still on the sidelines were also among the topics he discussed.

Alex Lazarow: Stripe, Mastercard, and Circle acquired three stablecoin companies within two years, with a total transaction amount exceeding 3 billion USD

According to Forbes, venture capitalist Alex Lazarow wrote that in the past two years, Stripe, Mastercard, and Circle have acquired American stablecoin infrastructure company Bridge, British BVNK, and Singapore cross-border payment platform Tazapay, respectively, with a total transaction value exceeding $3 billion. These three companies were established between 2020 and 2022, raising a total of approximately $200 million, indicating that stablecoin payment infrastructure is becoming a field where traditional payment giants and cryptocurrency companies are competing to establish a presence.Among them, Stripe announced in 2024 that it would acquire Bridge for slightly over $1 billion; the total value of Mastercard's acquisition of BVNK could reach up to $1.8 billion, including $1.5 billion in base consideration and $300 million in contingent consideration; Circle agreed to acquire Tazapay for $400 million in stock, with the transaction expected to be completed in 2027. The growth in stablecoin adoption, the gradual clarification of regulatory frameworks, and the rising demand for real-time cross-border payments are the main factors driving mergers and acquisitions.Data shows that in 2025, the adjusted transaction volume of stablecoins is expected to grow by 91% year-on-year, reaching $10.9 trillion, close to Visa's $14.2 trillion; the scale of real-world payments is expected to more than double, reaching approximately $390 billion. These transactions reflect that acquirers value not only stablecoin technology but also verified business scale, payment networks, and compliance qualifications. As stablecoin payment infrastructure matures, applications such as dollar accounts, stablecoin payment cards, and cross-border remittances are also emerging, and in the future, more local infrastructure companies similar to Bridge and BVNK may be acquired in various regions around the world.

Bitfinex: Bitcoin needs to wait for CPI to catalyze a return to $84,500, with short-term focus on $81,300 support

Bitfinex Alpha's latest report indicates that whether Bitcoin can regain the $84,500 level this week will depend on whether the U.S. CPI data changes market expectations for interest rates and yields, as well as whether spot market buying can follow up.This round of correction is similar to multiple adjustments during the previous recovery phase, and investors with holding costs within the original trading range have not shown significant selling. However, spot buying remains a weak link in the current market, with Bitcoin ETF investors' average holding cost around $84,340, and the current price is below this level, leading some investors to potentially sell as the rebound approaches their cost level.Analysts believe that if this week's core CPI month-on-month increase is 0.2% or lower, it may reduce market interest rate hike expectations and drive yields down, providing room for BTC to rise; if the core CPI reaches 0.3% or higher, it may continue to suppress the performance of risk assets. BTC may fluctuate in the range of $81,300 to $84,500 in the short term.If the price breaks through and stabilizes above $84,500, while ETF fund flows are strong, the market may retest the year-to-date opening level of $87,722; if it falls below $81,300 with continued capital outflow, it may further dip to around $77,400, the true market average level.
