ChainCatcher news, the Oklahoma Senate Tax Committee narrowly voted down House Bill 1203 (also known as the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Act) by a margin of 6 to 5. The HB1203 bill was introduced by Representative Cody Maynard in January of this year, allowing the Oklahoma State Treasurer to invest in Bitcoin and other qualifying digital assets. The definition of qualifying digital assets is any asset with a market value exceeding $500 billion in the past year. Currently, only Bitcoin meets this threshold. An earlier committee passed the bill overwhelmingly in February with a vote of 12 to 2.

ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, SEC chairman nominee Paul Atkins will attend a confirmation hearing before the U.S. Senate Banking Committee on March 27.Paul Atkins, a former SEC commissioner and supporter of digital assets, runs a Washington firm that provides financial compliance consulting to clients. He is expected to continue the SEC's pro-cryptocurrency policies initiated by acting chairman Mark Uyeda. If the Banking Committee votes to approve these nominations, the full Senate will conduct a confirmation vote, after which they can officially take office.

ChainCatcher news, according to CNBC, the Democratic Senate Majority Super PAC plans to return $3 million in donations from former FTX CEO SBF and former FTX engineering chief Nishad Singh.
