token

Tokens are digital assets issued on blockchain networks that represent a certain value or rights. Tokens can be transferred, traded, and stored on the blockchain, and are commonly used to represent asset ownership, access to certain services, or participation in network governance. Tokens are divided into various types, including payment tokens, utility tokens, and security tokens. Payment tokens are used for transactions and payments, utility tokens are used to access specific services or products, and security tokens represent investment rights. The issuance of tokens is usually achieved through smart contracts and is widely applied in decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and other fields.

first_img Harmony proposed to shut down the blockchain and migrate the ONE token to Ethereum

The Layer 1 blockchain Harmony, once a major competitor to Ethereum, proposed to shut down its mainnet on Sunday, citing threats from AI entities and nation-state actors as too severe. The Harmony team stated on X that since the mainnet launched in 2019, the community has experienced multiple attacks and transformations, and now it is time to completely discontinue the Harmony network. To mitigate the threats, the team proposed migrating the ONE token to Ethereum and redirecting the issuance of newly minted tokens to its new initiative "The Remix Economy for AI Video."According to the proposal, the migration will determine the allocation of alternative tokens received by each holder on Ethereum based on the ONE balance recorded at the final block of the network (i.e., a snapshot), covering wallets, staked tokens, validator rewards, smart contracts, and centralized exchanges. The alternative tokens will be airdropped to the same wallet address on Ethereum, and exchanges will also migrate to the new tokens. Although the proposal states that holders do not need to submit a claim, multi-signature vaults, liquidity pools, and on-chain applications cannot be migrated, and users are urged to exit all smart contracts by September 10, 2026. Harmony also proposed to pay eligible validators and their delegators in four installments from a pool of $1.372 million, provided that validators maintain their stakes, sign agreements, and serve governance roles. This migration proposal is the latest case of blockchain networks facing increased scrutiny due to attacks. In August of this year, Harmony confirmed it was attacked, with the attackers creating approximately 4 billion unauthorized ONE tokens, prompting the team to release a patch and consider a rollback.

Arthur Hayes released the FLOP yellow paper, planning to airdrop all tokens

Arthur Hayes released a new project FLOP white paper on social media. FLOP is a proof of useful inference (PoUI) blockchain and native currency aimed at the agent economy, where AI agents can use FLOP to pay miners for inference fees. The network adopts an architecture that combines PoUI with account-based chains, where agents submit session requests to the memory pool containing model weight hashes, maximum latency, computational load, confidentiality flags, and fees. Miners complete the inference and return proofs, which validators incorporate into blocks to complete settlements. The initial supply of FLOP is approximately 2.48346 billion tokens, all allocated for airdrops, with no VC pre-mining or auctions. The first phase of reward distribution allocates 75% to miners, 10% to validators, 10% to agents, and 5% to regular stakers. The average block time for the network is 1 second, with a roadmap goal of sub-second block times. The initial block reward is 96 FLOP, halving every 730 days, for a total of five halvings, after which it will permanently remain at 3 FLOP.The maximum number of validators is capped at 1,000, with approximately 50 rotating monthly based on verified workload and online rates. Miners and validators must stake FLOP, and malicious behavior may face penalties of up to full forfeiture and bans. Governance is conducted through FLOP improvement proposals, requiring a two-thirds approval from active validators in most cases.

first_img Cross-chain infrastructure Router Protocol announced its closure and will destroy 303 million ROUTE tokens

Router Protocol, a cross-chain infrastructure project supported by Coinbase Ventures, announced that it will cease all operations by September 30 and plans to permanently destroy 303,333,198 ROUTE tokens held in its treasury, accounting for about 30% of the total supply of nearly 1 billion tokens. The team released a statement on X, stating that over the past year, they attempted commercialization, licensing, and acquisition negotiations, but failed to achieve sustainable operational results.Router identified the flow of funds from the cryptocurrency sector to artificial intelligence and the decline in cross-chain asset transfer fees as core challenges facing its operations. As activities concentrated on fewer networks and standardized infrastructure, the demand for its services has decreased. The team noted that bridging economic profits are thin, fees have been compressed, and costs have never stopped. As part of the closure, Router will negotiate with centralized exchanges to stop supporting ROUTE tokens, and the delisting arrangements and withdrawal processes may vary across exchanges.Router raised $4.1 million from investors including Coinbase Ventures and Polygon in 2021 and launched the proof-of-stake Layer 1 blockchain Router Chain in July 2024, but it was shut down in September 2025 due to infrastructure costs, validator expansion, and security risks. The team also disclosed two security incidents in 2025: in February, approximately 80% of the value was recovered through negotiations after a vulnerability incident, while losses from a chain-level vulnerability in July could not be recovered.

first_img The dispute over AMC tokenized stocks is spreading, with intense debates in the industry about three issuance models

According to The Defiant, the dispute between AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron and Robinhood over tokenized AMC stock has escalated into a debate among tokenized stock issuers about which model should become the industry standard.Gabriel Otte, co-founder of Dinari, criticized Robinhood's synthetic tokens with Ondo as "worse for end investors than regular stocks," while Uniswap founder Hayden Adams compared it to early stablecoins, stating that it meets users' demands for programmability and 24/7 trading.Currently, three models are competing in the $2.91 billion tokenized stock market: Robinhood's stock tokens are debt securities issued by a Jersey entity, available only to non-U.S. persons; Ondo, xStocks, and Dinari hold the underlying stocks through regulated intermediaries and pass on economic benefits; Securitize and Superstate directly put company-registered stocks on-chain. The U.S. SEC's Division of Corporation Finance has legally defined the three models as of January 28. Data from rwa.xyz shows that the total scale of tokenized stocks reaches $2.91 billion, with a 14.4% growth over 30 days, and Ondo leads with $869.6 million.Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo also supports Aron's position, stating that he does not wish for others to create offshore derivatives of company stocks. Brian Huang, co-founder of Glider, believes that the trading venue is more important than the packaging format, as AMMs cannot guarantee users the best execution.
