cap

CAP may refer to various concepts in the cryptocurrency field, including Market Capitalization or the token symbol of certain specific projects. Market Capitalization is an important indicator for measuring the size of the cryptocurrency market, calculated by multiplying the number of tokens in circulation by the current price. It is used to assess the market size and influence of cryptocurrencies. If CAP is used as a token symbol, specific project background is needed to provide detailed information.

Vy Capital disclosed that it holds $40 billion in SpaceX shares, becoming the fifth largest shareholder

According to the Financial Times, the low-profile venture capital firm Vy Capital currently holds approximately $40 billion worth of SpaceX shares, with a stake of about 3.4%. According to Bloomberg data, the firm has become the fifth-largest shareholder of SpaceX, disclosing a holding size larger than that of Silicon Valley venture capital firms such as Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. Vy Capital first invested in SpaceX in 2016 when the company's valuation was around $15 billion; after SpaceX went public this year with a valuation of about $1.75 trillion, the value of its holdings has significantly increased.Vy Capital is also the largest external investor in Elon Musk's tunnel company The Boring Company and brain-computer interface company Neuralink, and had committed $700 million for Musk's acquisition of Twitter in 2022. The firm's head, John Hering, has a close relationship with Musk, having invested over $100 million in SpaceX shortly after the Falcon 9 rocket launch failure in 2016; since 2019, he has also been involved in the early business development of Starlink, including hiring personnel and building financial models, and has held a SpaceX employee badge. Currently, Hering serves as a director of The Boring Company, and Vy Capital also participated in the company's recent $3 billion financing round.Vy Capital's assets under management have increased from $27 billion at the end of last year to $50 billion in June of this year. In a letter to investors, the firm stated that since its establishment in 2014, it has achieved a total internal rate of return of 41% and has distributed $4.6 billion to investors. Vy Capital expects that if investment judgments materialize, SpaceX's valuation will exceed $10 trillion in the next 5 to 7 years. The firm currently has only a few dozen employees, with a core investment team of four, and has stopped accepting external investors since last year.

Strategy released the "Bitcoin Investor Guide": Bitcoin is becoming the cornerstone of the digital capital market

Strategy publicly released the "Bitcoin Investor Guide," compiled by its team, with a revision date of September 7, 2026, and market data as of September 4. The guide is aimed at professional investors, private investors, bankers, advisors, and capital allocators, systematically elaborating on Bitcoin's monetary attributes, investment logic, market structure, portfolio role, custody methods, and risks. The core viewpoint asserts that Bitcoin is no longer just a speculative asset but is becoming the foundation of a new type of digital capital market—a scarce, open, global reserve asset. The long-term logic is based on scarcity, open access, global liquidity, and independent verification, and it may absorb some of the monetary premiums currently attached to gold, real estate, stocks, bonds, and artworks.Key data snapshot (as of September 4, 2026): Bitcoin price is approximately $79,809, the 200-week moving average is about $64,715 (premium of approximately 23.3%); 1-year return is approximately -28.3%, and 10-year annualized return is about 62.8%; 30-day average trading volume is around $28.3 billion, and open interest is about $96 billion; spot ETFs hold approximately 1.27 million BTC, and the total network hash rate is about 935 EH/s. The guide emphasizes Bitcoin's positioning as "digital capital": a maximum supply cap of 21 million coins, no issuer, no expiration date, no contractual cash flows, with value primarily determined by scarcity and the monetary premium assigned by the market. It can be held directly, transferred globally, and independently verified. After the U.S. SEC approves the spot Bitcoin ETP in January 2024, institutional access has significantly increased, and the infrastructure for futures, options, and custody continues to mature. In terms of risk warnings, the guide points out Bitcoin's high volatility, lack of repayment commitments, and the potential for significant price declines; self-custody and third-party custody, ETPs, corporate securities, and derivatives all carry different legal, operational, and counterparty risks; transactions are irreversible, and loss of keys can lead to permanent loss. Strategy, as a publicly listed company with significant Bitcoin holdings, has a vested interest in Bitcoin prices. The document clearly states that it is for educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice.

first_img Uniswap launched StablePair Hook, a dynamic fee rate to help LP capture the value of stablecoin transactions

According to The Block, Uniswap Labs announced the launch of a new tool, StablePair Hook, designed specifically for stablecoin trading pairs such as USDC/USDT and USDC/USDG.Uniswap Labs stated that StablePair Hook can provide traders with consistent and predictable quotes, allowing liquidity providers to retain more of the value they create. Data shows that in the second quarter, the trading volume of exchanges between stablecoins on Uniswap reached $43.4 billion, surpassing the total of the other three major on-chain trading venues.StablePair Hook replaces fixed rates with dynamic rates, which adjust based on the degree of price deviation from the reference price within the pool. When the price is close to the reference price, the Hook adjusts the transaction fee for each trade to maintain a fixed bid-ask spread; when the price deviates from the reference range, trades that push the price away incur no fees, while trades that pull the price back to the reference price use a Dutch auction mechanism, with fees decreasing block by block from high to low until accepted by the trader. Uniswap Labs stated that this allows liquidity providers to retain more value from price returns. The first batch of StablePair Hook pools will go live on Ethereum, supporting USDC/USDG and USDC/USDT trading pairs. This Hook can be upgraded through Uniswap governance, and the fee system and other parameters can be adjusted without migrating liquidity.

first_img Institutions like Nasdaq have written to the European Union, requesting the cancellation or increase of the tokenization cap

According to CoinDesk, European financial and cryptocurrency industry organizations have written to the EU Council and the European Parliament, urging lawmakers to remove the cap on the scale of tokenized securities platforms or set it at least at €1.5 trillion (approximately $1.74 trillion), arguing that the €100 billion cap proposed by the European Commission will hinder industry development. Signatories include the French Digital Asset Association Adan, Crypto Council for Innovation, the European Ethereum Institute, as well as companies like Nasdaq and Boerse Stuttgart. The EU's distributed ledger pilot regime allows operators to test the trading and settlement of tokenized stocks, bonds, and investment funds while exempting some existing financial rules. After observing "moderate" participation, the European Commission proposed to expand the pilot framework and raise the current €6 billion cap to €100 billion. Adan stated that considering the development of the global market, this increase is still insufficient, and their preferred option is to completely remove the cap or at least set it to €1.5 trillion, which is 15 times the proposed cap.The joint letter pointed out that some existing European projects have reached a scale of €350 billion and plan to grow further, but did not disclose specific projects or calculation methods. The letter also emphasized that the relevant threshold targets the market capitalization of admitted securities rather than trading volume and opposed giving central securities depositories a significantly higher differentiated cap than other blockchain market operators, arguing that this would be detrimental to emerging service providers. The alliance also compared the restrictive measures in Europe with an unnamed mainstream settlement platform in the United States, which can tokenize assets like stocks without a trading volume cap; if the cap is retained, the alliance hopes the Commission can flexibly raise it as the market grows, without presetting a maximum limit.
