first_img TrendForce: The top ten foundry revenues before the second quarter of 2026 are nearly 53.49 billion USD

TrendForce's latest research on the wafer foundry industry shows that in the second quarter of 2026, the total revenue of the world's top ten wafer foundries increased by 11.5% quarter-on-quarter, approaching $53.49 billion, setting a new record. The growth mainly comes from the continued demand exceeding supply for advanced processes in AI and HPC processors, as well as the rising demand for peripheral AI chips such as PMICs and power discrete devices; the early stocking of consumer supply chains for TVs, PCs, and laptops has also tightened the capacity of some mature processes.TSMC continues to lead, with revenue nearing $40.2 billion in the second quarter, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 12.1%, and a market share of 72.5%. The demand for AI server GPUs and XPUs has kept its 5/4 nm and 3 nm capacities fully loaded, and the initial stocking of the new iPhone has also contributed, with 2 nm making its first revenue contribution. Samsung Foundry ranks second, with revenue of $3.26 billion, a slight quarter-on-quarter increase of 1.8%, and a market share dropping to 5.9%. SMIC ranks third, with revenue exceeding $3 billion, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 20%, and a market share rising to 5.4%, narrowing the gap with Samsung.UMC maintains fourth place, with revenue of nearly $2.18 billion, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 12.7%, and a market share of 3.9%. GlobalFoundries is fifth, with revenue of approximately $1.79 billion, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 9.3%, and a market share of 3.2%. Data: The euro stablecoin added 156 million USD this year, while the supply of US dollar stablecoins has nearly stagnated

According to Cryptopolitan, the latest data from Token Terminal shows that the supply of euro stablecoins reached $848.1 million on September 7, marking an annual growth of approximately 22.6%, with a net increase of about $156 million. In the same period, US dollar stablecoins only saw a net increase of about $159 million, but their base was as high as $298.5 billion, which is 350 times the market size of euro stablecoins. In terms of market concentration, EURC and EURCV together account for 82% of the euro stablecoin supply, with EURCV issued by SG-Forge, a digital asset subsidiary of Société Générale, holding a MiCA-compliant license and accounting for 19.6%. It is the first stablecoin led by a licensed European bank subsidiary. In terms of on-chain distribution, Ethereum absorbed about $125 million of the incremental supply this year, achieving a market share of 69.4%; Solana added about $30 million, with a market share of 14.7%; together, they contributed almost all of the annual increment. Base, on the other hand, saw a decline, dropping from $73.9 million to $58.7 million. Analysis indicates that the growth of euro stablecoins is primarily driven by supply from issuers rather than demand from users, and liquidity for euro trading pairs in DeFi lending pools and perpetual contracts remains weak, with the supply-demand gap yet to be bridged.

first_img The United States' crackdown on Iranian oil tankers has driven up oil prices, while Bitcoin has fallen nearly 1% to $79,700

Bitcoin price fell nearly 1% to around $79,700, as escalating conflicts between the United States and Iran pushed oil prices higher. The U.S. Central Command confirmed on Saturday that it struck three Iranian oil tankers located near Halk Island, Jask, and the Gulf of Oman. Admiral Brad Cooper stated that if Iran attacks U.S. vessels, the U.S. will impose a higher economic cost. The U.S. Central Command updated maritime blockade data, stating that since resuming operations on July 14, it has redirected 92 merchant ships, disabled 3, and boarded 2 for inspection. Oil prices rose by 1% in both the U.S. and European markets, with WTI at $92.72, marking a cumulative increase of over 6% in the past seven days. The rise in oil prices could exacerbate global inflation, making it more difficult for central banks, including the Federal Reserve, to cut interest rates.Additionally, the U.S. employment data for August released last Friday was stronger than expected, reinforcing expectations for an interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve. However, Trump immediately posted on Truth Social calling for a rate cut, stating that a strong nation means lower interest rates. This uncertainty may dampen risk appetite for Bitcoin and the broader market. Furthermore, late Sunday night, the Liquid Network, used by exchanges as a settlement layer, suffered a $320 million attack.
