Papertrade responds to concerns about price manipulation and protocol vulnerabilities: the relaxed position limit in the early stages of launch is the cause, and parameters have begun to tighten

Papertrade's official response to the allegations of price manipulation and the existence of obvious loopholes in the protocol states: It has never been possible for small orders to have the same priority as large orders. If this were done, the front end would suffer from congestion due to junk trading, and the consequences would be much worse than the existing queuing mechanism.Under these constraints, we have designed the fair launch to be as inclusive as possible.Last night, the attempts to manipulate BTC/ETH on Hyperliquid BBO were not due to flaws in the mechanism that took six months to design. These situations had already been considered; it was only because the position limits were set very loosely in the early stages to cope with congestion that such occurrences were possible. If position limits were set during peak demand for launching, it would only exacerbate the slow experience, and the queuing mechanism itself, due to the uncertainty of opening/closing confirmation times, naturally provides protection against manipulation. As congestion eases, we have begun to tighten position limits on-chain and at the relay level. In such a system, manipulation attacks are always possible— the key is whether the attempt is economically viable. The official goal is to set parameters to a point where it is almost never profitable; even if successful, the tail risk is extremely high, and the expected value is negative.

first_img XRP Ledger activates delegated permission functionality, supporting the separation of payment and compliance functions

On October 8, the XRP Ledger activated the PermissionDelegationV1_1 feature, allowing account owners to authorize other accounts to perform specific tasks without relinquishing control of the account's master key. According to the monitoring site XRPL Dashboard, such upgrades require over 80% support from trusted validators for two consecutive weeks; based on the current 35 validators, at least 29 must support it. The countdown for this feature was reset in September due to the support rate falling below the threshold. This feature allows enterprises to split permissions by function. Stablecoin issuers can authorize compliant accounts to approve new customers while keeping the master key offline. Authorized accounts use their own keys to sign and can only perform the granted operations; owners can change or revoke these permissions at any time. Each authorized account can receive up to 10 permissions, which limit the types of operations they can perform, rather than automatically setting spending limits. Banks have previously separated payment and compliance responsibilities at the employee level, and this upgrade enforces such division at the ledger level.According to a report shared by Evernorth, a subsidiary of XRP Treasury, the network held an average of $3.72 billion in tokenized assets and $539 million in Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin in the second quarter, totaling approximately $4.26 billion. Official guidance advises users not to delegate PaymentBurn permissions before separately fixing activation; this permission is intended for assistants to destroy tokens but, under certain conditions, also allows for the creation of new tokens. This warning pertains to tokens issued on the ledger rather than newly minted XRP.

Xiao Hong, the founder of General Intelligence Manus, stated that preparations for a domestic version are underway

The founder of the general-purpose intelligent agent Manus, Xiao Hong, stated that when Manus was born, Codex and Claude Cowork had not yet appeared in the market, and the product positioning has always been a general-purpose intelligent agent. He likened Manus to a computer-selling business, believing that users may primarily purchase computers for work, but if they cannot watch videos or play games, the experience will be quite limited; therefore, it should not be confined to office tasks.Xiao Hong indicated that videos and games are important scenarios for unleashing creativity, which need to be perfected through the local client Manus Studio. The related videos for Cue are entirely produced by Manus Studio, without using video generation models; instead, the agent first writes the code, which is then converted into video. With the help of cloud computers, Manus can also create online games that support user participation with friends. In terms of infrastructure, Manus cloud computers can provide cloud-based Linux, Mac, and Windows environments. Xiao Hong stated that when the agent operates the computer in the cloud, it will not compete with the user for the local mouse cursor, and he anticipates that individuals will be able to control large-scale computing clusters in the future to satisfy curiosity and conduct experiments and explorations in fields such as mathematics and science. He also described Cue as having an independent phone number, email, payment capability, computer, and sufficient intelligence, and stated that if such agents could be regarded as humans, there might be more changes in upper-level interactions. Xiao Hong mentioned that building product experiences in an overseas open ecosystem is relatively easier, and Manus is actively preparing a domestic version.

first_img Paradigm co-founder disclosed investment in ZEC, Zcash rose about 20% in 24 hours

Privacy token Zcash (ZEC) rose about 20% in 24 hours, with Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang revealing that the company has invested in ZEC. ZEC supports shielded transactions that hide addresses and transaction amounts using zero-knowledge proofs, with a price of about $1,338 on Thursday.Huang disclosed in a post that Paradigm is both an investor in the Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) and a holder of ZEC tokens. He described Zcash as "a privacy complement to Bitcoin" and supports its developer fund backed by inflationary funds, believing that long-term funding support remains important in the context of AI network capabilities and the development of quantum computing. He also supports combining Zcash token voting with other forms of governance to reduce its unpredictability as a monetary asset.Today's increase of over 10% has led to a cumulative rise of about 160% for ZEC over the past month, while Bitcoin has risen 18.2% during the same period. Paradigm's investment in the Zcash ecosystem has been publicly disclosed, with ZODL announcing the completion of over $25 million in seed funding in March, with participants including Paradigm, a16z crypto, Coinbase Ventures, and Winklevoss Capital. As ZEC rises, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4%, marking the first rate hike of 2023, with the overall cryptocurrency market trending upward.
