Placeholder Partner: The current market resembles an early bull market opportunity; long-term investors are advised to systematically accumulate tokens

Co-founder Chris Burniske stated that long-term investors should not repeatedly struggle with entering or exiting the market, but should systematically accumulate tokens over time, and not confuse long-term investing with short-term trading. He suggested using his most successful investment targets as a reference, calculating target holdings based on the total supply of network tokens. He gave an example that the total supply of ETH is about 120 million tokens. If one previously held 10 ETH, based on the network holding ratio, the total supply of SOL is about 636 million tokens, corresponding to about 53 tokens; the total supply of TIA is about 1.16 billion tokens, corresponding to about 97 tokens. If one wishes for the TIA network share to reach 10 times the original ETH holding share, approximately 970 TIA would be needed. For ZEC, since its supply is similar to BTC, the ideal BTC holding quantity can be used as a reference for accumulation targets.Regarding the current market, he noted that many crypto assets have fallen 20% to over 40% from their highs, while BTC has dropped less than 10%. He is more inclined to believe that BTC's previous relative resilience has led to significant adjustments in assets with lower risk appetite, making the current situation more like an opportunity in the early stages of a bull market rather than a warning signal of a bull market trap. He also reminded that one should consider the possibility of further price declines, suggesting to invest remaining cash in batches and determine the investment ratio based on the probability of local bottoms at different price levels; even if some preset price levels are not reached and cash remains, it can still be acceptable.

Placeholder Partner: The characteristics of the bull market have emerged, planning to re-enter when BTC falls back to $75,000 or lower

Former Ark Invest crypto head and current Placeholder VC partner Chris Burniske recently stated that although this crypto cycle is disappointing, core assets like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) remain within historical high ranges. Investors should be wary of short-term pullback risks while maintaining long-term allocations.Burniske pointed out that the crash on October 11 has caused a lasting impact on the market, making it difficult to quickly establish sustained buying pressure. The monthly charts for BTC and ETH show cracks but still remain in the "top range." Additionally, the decline in MicroStrategy (MSTR) stock price and frequent warning signals from the gold and credit markets suggest that a broader asset adjustment is imminent. "This bull market is different, and the next bear market will be different as well," Burniske wrote. He has adjusted his positions accordingly and plans to re-enter when BTC falls to $75,000 or lower, but emphasized that this is "definitely not an all-in or all-out" gradual strategy. In his portfolio disclosure, Burniske revealed that approximately 39% of his personal holdings are in "free cash" (money market funds), while 61% are in long-term capital, including non-crypto assets. This reflects his belief in the nature of capitalism: "Capitalism aims to grow capital, so maintaining allocations is always the wisest choice." He warned that private market valuations are nearing the cycle's peak, and if BTC continues to decline, no crypto asset will be able to stand alone. At the same time, he cited historical lessons, such as gold soaring before the crashes in 2000 and 2008, reminding investors to avoid blindly chasing "escape pods" when all assets are overvalued. Looking ahead, Burniske is cautiously optimistic about a liquidity resurgence, believing it will arrive late and be less stimulative than in 2021, potentially leading to a shift towards "four-year fundamentalism." He observed that characteristics of a bull market peak are already evident: positive news (such as developments related to Robinhood) no longer triggers rebounds, while a bear market bottom requires bad news to lose its effect. He calls for investors to be patient and resilient, especially in the AI and crypto sectors.

Placeholder Partner: We are currently in the correction phase of a bull market, not at the peak of this bull market

ChainCatcher news, Placeholder partner Chris Burniske tweeted that the current market sentiment is low, and many people are choosing to sell at the lows, but he believes this is an opportunity rather than an endpoint. He thinks that this may just be a pullback in the bull market, not the peak of this bull run. Even if Bitcoin may still drop a bit, selling now might not be a good choice, as it could lead to missing out on subsequent rises. He advises investors to stay calm; if they don't know what to do, they can choose not to look at price fluctuations. If they still have funds, they might consider buying in batches when the market looks very attractive or when sentiment is at its most pessimistic. He reminds them not to trust those who "always trade perfectly," as holding onto promising assets for the long term is key.Burniske also mentioned that the speed of price fluctuations in Bitcoin and crypto assets is the fastest in financial markets. If the stock market experiences greater volatility, policies may intervene, and the crypto market will respond most sensitively to this. He encourages investors not to miss opportunities due to fear or frequent trading and is confident about the future of the blockchain industry, believing that institutional entry and technological applications are accelerating.
