Two Prime CEO: Bitcoin's rebound still has room, and the short covering of volatility will provide additional momentum

According to CoinDesk, Alexander Blume, founder and CEO of the cryptocurrency asset management company Two Prime, stated that Bitcoin's recent rebound still has room to grow, mainly because institutional investors who have sold volatility are facing position pressure. If the price continues to rise, short sellers being forced to cover their positions will further fuel the upward trend. He pointed out that the current market structure is healthy, with funding rates not showing signs of overheating. The rebound is not driven by speculation, and the continuous inflow of spot ETFs and corporate buying provides substantial support.Although implied volatility has risen from 23%-24% to over 40, it remains low by historical standards. If call option sellers are forced to close their positions, it could accelerate the upward movement. Blume believes that if the macro environment stabilizes, BTC has already formed a bottom around $60,000, with the biggest risk coming from a complete collapse of risk assets. The generally pessimistic market sentiment means that even moderate positive news could have an outsized impact. On the mining front, MARA recently chose to collateralize its BTC holdings to obtain a $600 million loan from Coinbase and Two Prime, rather than selling directly, in order to retain upside potential. Mining companies are diversifying their AI transformation strategies, with Cipher Mining and TeraWulf actively shifting towards AI infrastructure, while CleanSpark and MARA explore AI and power sectors while maintaining their original businesses. Blume expects the Trump administration to push for interest rate cuts, and adjustments to the PCE index may lower inflation readings, which could improve interest rate prospects.

Malone Lam, the mastermind behind the theft of 240 million USD in BTC, will attend a plea agreement hearing this Tuesday

According to Apnews, a young cryptocurrency scam gang stole over 4,100 BTC in August 2024 through "social engineering" attacks, which was worth over $240 million at the time. After the theft, gang members quickly began extravagant spending, including purchasing sports cars, renting luxury homes, flying on private jets, and hiring security personnel. Among them, the alleged mastermind, a 22-year-old Singaporean named Malone Lam, reportedly spent over $569,000 in one night at a nightclub in Los Angeles.Investigations revealed that the suspects impersonated employees from Google and the cryptocurrency trading platform Gemini to trick victims into giving up their Google Drive access and security codes, allowing them to transfer the victims' bitcoins. They then moved the funds through multiple trading platforms and money laundering intermediaries. Their lavish lifestyle eventually drew the attention of law enforcement. One suspect was exposed when their IP address was revealed while hiding nearly $30 million in stolen cryptocurrency assets, leading police to trace it back to the luxury home they rented in California. Another suspect was found with $37 million worth of stolen cryptocurrency assets. Lam was accused of using the stolen funds to purchase a $2 million watch and over 30 vehicles including Porsches, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris.Currently, 18 defendants have been charged, and Lam is expected to attend a plea agreement hearing this Tuesday. The U.S. Department of Justice has already issued rulings against several accomplices, and related cases are still ongoing.

first_img TSMC and others' expansion has driven the top five semiconductor foundries' engineering orders to exceed 880 billion yuan

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Micron, and other companies are increasing capital expenditures to expand production, driving the combined orders of the top five semiconductor engineering firms—HanTang, Axiom, FanXuan, Yankee, and ShengHui—to exceed 880 billion yuan, a record high. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company recently stated at a semiconductor exhibition that it is building up to 20 wafer fabs, with the overall capacity expansion scale increasing multiple times compared to the past, but it still cannot meet customer demand. The U.S. tariff policy has driven the demand for manufacturing plants in the United States. Axiom has the largest order amount of 440.73 billion yuan, and Chairman Yao ZuXiang pointed out that the cumulative amount of turnkey projects undertaken in Singapore over the past four years has reached 600 billion yuan, with expectations for new projects to follow. HanTang's order amount is approximately 193.937 billion yuan, setting a new record, benefiting from continued plant construction by major clients like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Micron.FanXuan's order amount reached a new high of 135.1 billion yuan, and Chairman Gao XinMing revealed that order visibility extends at least to 2028, with related projects for clients planned for 2029 and 2030. FanXuan has deployed materials, manpower, and local construction teams to support clients in Taiwan, Arizona in the United States, Japan, and Germany in synchronizing production expansion needs, and is investing in the development of technologies such as CoPoS. ShengHui's order amount exceeds 60 billion yuan, with Taiwan accounting for 68% and semiconductor orders accounting for 63%. In the first half of the year, the after-tax net profit was 2.944 billion yuan, with earnings per share of 23.73 yuan, setting a new high for the same period. Yankee's after-tax net profit in the first half of the year was 2.317 billion yuan, with earnings per share of 17.46 yuan, and the order amount is approximately 51.77 billion yuan, with order visibility reaching the end of 2027.

first_img Tesla Cybercab launched in the United States, with no steering wheel and pedals costing 0.84 yuan per kilometer

On September 3 local time, Tesla held a Cybercab launch event in Austin, Texas, USA. This vehicle is a mass-produced model designed for autonomous driving scenarios, eliminating the steering wheel, pedals, and traditional rearview mirrors, and adopting a two-seat layout, with driving entirely controlled by Tesla's autonomous driving software. The Cybercab was unveiled as a concept car at the "We, Robot" event in October 2024, with the first mass-produced vehicle rolling off the line at the Texas Gigafactory in February this year, and mass production starting in April, taking about 18 months from concept to mass production. The vehicle relies on 8 high-definition cameras to perceive the environment and makes driving decisions through an end-to-end neural network, without relying on lidar and high-precision maps. According to Tesla's data, as of September 2026, the global fleet's cumulative assisted driving mileage has exceeded 22.5 billion kilometers. In terms of energy efficiency, it is expected to travel 9.8 kilometers per kilowatt-hour, with an energy consumption of about 10.2 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers. The curb weight is 1412 kilograms, equipped with a 47.6 kilowatt-hour battery pack and a 163-kilowatt motor, with a laboratory range of 673 kilometers. After scaling up ride-hailing operations, the cost per mile can be reduced to $0.2, equivalent to about 0.84 yuan per kilometer. The Cybercab will be showcased in multiple cities such as Beijing and Shanghai starting in mid-September. This exhibition does not involve the sale of the vehicle in China, nor does it represent that Tesla will conduct autonomous ride-hailing commercial operations domestically.
