Web3 version of Notion.

Crypto is an industry that is rapidly evolving every day, with countless new projects emerging daily. Sometimes a hot topic may only last a few days, and recalling significant events from a week ago feels like it happened a month ago.

In such a fast-paced industry, the most important yet challenging task is to keep up with the rhythm and not fall behind. While expanding our knowledge every day, we also need to deepen our understanding continuously. Therefore, the aggregation and organization of information become particularly important, and this task is difficult to accomplish independently, leading people to start using collaborative office applications.

Currently, Notion is widely used. If you follow some KOLs in the Crypto industry on Twitter, you will notice that many of them have begun to write their organized project materials and information into Notion and share them on social media. Some even open editing permissions to allow everyone to co-create and improve these materials together.

At present, Notion requires email login, and we use a centralized third party to provide us with a "digital identity." Our creations and work under this identity do not represent the "self" in the digital age.

Another flaw of the centralized identity system is that the data and identities between different applications are isolated islands. Before the launch and widespread use of federated identities, we need to register a separate account for each application we use. Even if we can currently log into other applications through third-party services, it still does not solve the issues of identity and information ownership.

In the Web3 era, people need to have a digital identity in their own hands, allowing them to create, work, and build in this new world. Although Notion's functionality is already quite comprehensive, we still look forward to a "Notion" that can be logged into using Web3 methods.

Introduction to Clarity

Clarity is the "Notion" that can be logged into using Web3 methods.

In terms of current functionality, Clarity is not much different from Notion; the biggest difference is that Clarity allows login using an Ethereum address, and your Ethereum address or ENS domain name can be directly used as your Clarity username.

For users from traditional industries, this is a great opportunity to step into the Web3 era; for Web3 users, it allows them to use their digital identity, which is extremely important for a decentralized team.

Notion's collaborative office and co-creation features are very "Web3," and Clarity, which allows login via Ethereum addresses, brings these features into Web3. What future developments might Clarity, linked to Web3 digital identities, have?

Currently, the Clarity website clearly states that after linking an Ethereum address, users can access certain exclusive documents based on their token holdings.

This also means that Clarity can become a governance tool for DAOs. Currently, DAO communities are usually built on Discord and use bots to filter and screen members; proposals and voting typically occur on Snapshot. However, there is still no decentralized collaborative office application for DAO members to work together. Clarity fills this gap well.

On one hand, Clarity can filter members based on their token holdings; on the other hand, various Web3 functionalities can also be implemented through Clarity linked to Ethereum addresses. For example, determining the weight of votes within a DAO based on the address's history, or more conveniently distributing rewards based on the address and work content. The development of Web3 holds immense imaginative potential, and the future of Clarity as a Web3 collaborative office application is certainly intriguing.
