Ripple completes $500 million financing with a valuation of $40 billion, led by Fortress and others
According to CNBC, digital asset and infrastructure company Ripple announced on Wednesday that it has completed a $500 million funding round, raising its valuation to $40 billion. This funding comes after the company has made a series of acquisitions, while its product line is expanding from a single payment focus to a broader range of services.
Industry insiders believe that the U.S. environment for cryptocurrency and digital asset companies has become more favorable following Donald Trump's election as president and the passage of the landmark stablecoin regulation GENIUS Act, as these companies are trying to seize the opportunity to accelerate their growth.
Ripple is closely related to the cryptocurrency XRP, and the company stated that this funding round was led by funds managed by the following institutions: Fortress Investment Group's affiliated funds, Citadel Securities' affiliated funds, Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital, Brevan Howard, and Marshall Wace.
