240 cryptocurrency asset taxpayers in the UK reported £717 million in capital gains, accounting for more than half of the total

The UK's HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) stated that for the 2024 to 2025 tax year, 240 individuals each reported capital gains from crypto assets exceeding £1 million, totaling £717 million, accounting for more than half of the total. The capital gains of all 17,600 filers amounted to £1.38 billion, with disposals totaling £13.8 billion. Taxpayers reporting capital gains below £25,000 accounted for 65%, contributing only 7% of the capital gains and 8% of the disposals.Among crypto asset taxpayers, 54% are aged between 25 and 44, and 81% are under 54; males account for 87%, contributing 93% of the capital gains. The UK is advancing regulation based on the OECD crypto asset reporting framework, requiring trading service providers to provide customer information to tax authorities, with HMRC set to start receiving relevant data in 2027; service providers failing to comply will face fines of up to £300 per user. James Murray, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, stated that capital gains from crypto assets are subject to tax just like other capital gains. The UK Treasury plans to defer capital gains tax on DeFi lending and assets deposited into liquidity pools until the actual disposal of the assets. For the 2025 to 2026 tax year, capital gains exceeding the tax-free allowance must be reported by January 31, 2027.

Data: NVDA contracts had a trading volume of approximately 232 million USD in 24 hours, with Binance, Hyperliquid, and OKX accounting for about 88.3% of the trading volume

According to RootData market data, the price of Nvidia (NVDA) contracts on 10 platforms is concentrated between $213.6 and $213.9, with a 24-hour increase ranging from 0.96% to 1.24%. The total 24-hour trading volume is approximately $232 million, with an open interest value of about $184 million.Among them, Binance has a trading volume of about $123 million, accounting for approximately 52.9% of the total trading volume, with an open interest of about $41.5375 million; Hyperliquid has a trading volume of about $59.3152 million, with an open interest of about $97.9711 million, accounting for about 53.2% of the total platform open interest, making it the market with the largest position. The disclosed platforms have a total liquidity depth of ±2% of approximately $12.6731 million, with Hyperliquid at about $4.432 million and Binance at about $3.4173 million. In terms of market concentration, Binance, Hyperliquid, and OKX contribute approximately 88.3% of the trading volume; Hyperliquid and Binance together account for about 75.8% of the open interest. Currently, the funding rates across platforms are generally low, and there has not yet been a significant extreme bullish premium.Previous report indicates that Nvidia will announce its second-quarter financial report after the U.S. stock market closes on Wednesday, with the market's focus mainly on five aspects: AI infrastructure financing, progress on Vera Rubin servers, open model layout, sales in China, and gross margin pressure.

first_img Micron warns that AI storage walls are intensifying, with HBM accounting for about 17% of the interruptions in Meta Llama 3 training

According to TrendForce, at Hot Chips 2026, Micron emphasized that the progress of AI computing power is faster than storage improvements, and the challenge of the "storage wall" is becoming increasingly prominent. Micron Fellow Raghu Sriramaneni pointed out that the computing power of AI accelerators increases approximately threefold every two years, while the bandwidth of HBM increases by less than double during the same period, and the gap may further widen. The deepening reliance on HBM also brings reliability issues; Micron cited Meta Llama 3 data indicating that HBM failures account for about 17% of unexpected training interruptions. New designs that blur the boundaries between computing and storage may help break through the bottleneck. The expansion of HBM also brings area and supply pressures: the latest generation of packaging integrates two GPUs with eight 12-layer HBM4 stacks, with storage accounting for about 90% of the semiconductor area, more than eight times the area occupied by GPUs; achieving equivalent capacity with HBM requires about three times the wafers of standard DDR5 DRAM. Thermal management has also become a key constraint, with solutions such as liquid cooling and ultra-thin chips being explored.Micron is advancing innovations in interconnect, packaging, and cooling, including SerDes and die-to-die PHY optimized for storage, larger size SiP and advanced packaging with glass substrates, as well as liquid cooling and hybrid bonding, and is developing fusion bonding to reduce thermal resistance and enhance data throughput.

The institutionalization of the South Korean cryptocurrency market is accelerating: 6,590 corporate accounts at 5 major exchanges, with Bithumb accounting for nearly half

According to a report by the Korean News Agency, the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea submitted data to the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee, revealing that as of the end of July, the five major virtual asset exchanges in Korea (Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Digital Asset Exchange, Gopax) have registered a total of 6,590 corporate accounts. In terms of the distribution of exchanges, Bithumb has the highest number of registered corporate accounts, reaching 3,280; the operator of Upbit, Dunamu, has 2,086 accounts. The two major exchanges account for a total of 5,366 corporate accounts, which is 81.4% of the total. Additionally, Korbit has 620, Coinone has 539, and Gopax has 65.In terms of compliance, there are a total of 711 corporate accounts that have completed customer identity verification (KYC), accounting for 10.8% of all corporate accounts. Among them, Upbit has the most with 290; Bithumb has 199, Korbit has 184, and Coinone and Gopax have 33 and 5, respectively. In terms of the scale of virtual asset holdings, Korean corporate accounts hold approximately 43.377 billion Korean won (about 31.2 million USD), with Upbit having the highest share, holding approximately 27.08 billion Korean won, accounting for 62.4% of the total; Bithumb holds about 6.29 billion Korean won, and Coinone holds about 5.15 billion Korean won. The deposit scale of corporate accounts is approximately 9.13 billion Korean won.

Keeta sent a letter to the hacker after the attack: Return the funds within 72 hours to avoid accountability

Regarding the recent attack on the payment public chain Keeta, Keeta Network CEO Ty sent a letter to the attackers stating that the investigation has made substantial progress and evidence has been collected that can identify the attackers. This includes information on the IP addresses related to the attack, the VPN and VPS infrastructure used, the user agents and technical environment that initiated unauthorized requests, relevant email addresses, the software used, and the infrastructure service providers. The relevant evidence has been preserved and submitted to the authorities. The attackers are required to return all funds obtained from this attack within 72 hours, with repayment acceptable in KTA, ETH, or USDC. If the full amount is returned, a certain reward will be offered, and the matter will be resolved without pursuing legal responsibility. If the deadline is exceeded and the funds are not returned, all rights to pursue legal action and fund recovery will be reserved. Ty previously stated that the root cause of the security incident has been confirmed and patches are being tested. The issue is an isolated problem with the affected components and does not impact Keeta's anchor system or any external connection systems. All KTA on Base has not been affected. The Keeta mainnet will remain in read-only status until the patches are fully tested and appropriate additional safeguards are implemented before resuming full operation. The team is actively assessing the best way to fully compensate all affected users.
