first_img a16z General Partner David Haber: Long-cycle intelligent agents can charge based on results

David Haber, a general partner at a16z, stated that long-cycle intelligent agents can now progress towards goals across dozens of steps and various interaction methods over weeks to months. He noted that AI previously handled short tasks with clear boundaries, where customer service was implemented earlier due to verifiable results and edge cases manageable by humans; now, intelligent agents can guide insurance clients from the initial call to payout, mortgage clients from pre-approval to closing, and business leads from demonstration to signing, gaining returns based on revenue growth rather than just cost savings. He used the example of plaintiff lawyers preparing cases, stating that the process resembles a relay race, where value can easily be lost at handoff points. Potential clients often contact multiple law firms simultaneously, and slow responses or evaluations can lead to loss; after signing, evidence collection is limited by manpower, and firms may not follow up with witnesses who did not answer the fifth call, making it difficult to review low-value cases item by item. Missing bills or unexplained treatment gaps can also lower settlement amounts. Long-cycle intelligent agents can assess in real-time around the clock, utilizing sub-agents to advance evidence collection and client updates via phone, email, or text, while maintaining complete records from call logs to medical records.Haber proposed three commercialization paths: selling platforms to existing teams, taking over outsourced services, or vertically integrating as a full-stack service provider, such as purchasing debt portfolios and completing collections. He mentioned that most states in the U.S. prohibit non-lawyers from sharing attorney fees, so the plaintiff legal scenario needs to align pricing with settlement amounts but cannot directly share profits.

first_img U.S. Congressman Warren Davidson: The future of currency will determine the direction of Western civilization

According to Bitcoin Magazine, U.S. Congressman Warren Davidson stated in an interview video published by Bitcoin Magazine that the future of currency is closely linked to the future of Western civilization. He pointed out that the U.S. is burdened with about $40 trillion in debt, and since 2020, the dollar has lost about 30% of its purchasing power. The rising risk of default and inflation are driving up interest rates, and those without physical assets will lose purchasing power. Davidson is the founder of the Sound Money Caucus. In the interview, Davidson also discussed the end of the debate vote on the Clarity Act and its Section 305's threat to self-custody, as well as whether the bill will be reintroduced after the midterm elections, and topics such as open-source developer protection and the Trump family ethics clause. He also mentioned the American Reserve Modernization Act and the issue of the U.S. government holding Bitcoin, and responded to whether Bitcoin has become a partisan issue.Additionally, Davidson expressed his views on central bank digital currencies, financial surveillance, and reforms to the Bank Secrecy Act, referring to stablecoins as "Hydra-like" central bank digital currencies, and discussed the GENIUS Act. He urged Bitcoin supporters to defend freedom in the midterm elections and warned that the direction of the monetary system's development will determine the trajectory of Western civilization.

first_img David Hoffman: In 2026, ZEC will be similar to ETH in 2021, and NEAR will win the smart contract buying market

David Hoffman, founding partner of Bankless Ventures, published a discussion on the "Bitcoin Buy Side Trophy," stating that the crypto market occasionally sees a single asset absorbing the capital shift from Bitcoin holders. The Bitcoin community has long maintained a consensus of "holding only BTC," with a scale of about $1.7 trillion; individual shifts usually go unnoticed, but when enough people turn to the same asset, it becomes contagious. He cited 2021's ETH as an example, where its market cap rose from about $12 billion at the bottom to about $554 billion at the top, and referenced Su Zhu's statement from October that year, indicating that some people specifically moved cold-stored Bitcoin to buy ETH, and some publicly known Bitcoin maximalists may privately hold ETH.He believes that ZEC in 2026 is similar to ETH in 2021, having formed a consensus point for some Bitcoin capital, with reasons including privacy, quantum, or as a hedge against Bitcoin exposure "just in case." ZEC's market cap rose from about $200 million to about $2.6 billion, which is still small relative to the $1.7 trillion BTC; the key lies in relative scale rather than dollar appreciation, as the buying pressure is driven by Bitcoin wealth. As long as a very small proportion of holders can be persuaded to allocate a small amount of ZEC, the buying pressure will continue; very few people skip BTC, ETH, and other crypto assets to buy based solely on ZEC's own merits. He also believes that NEAR will win the weaker "smart contract buy side" in 2026, with funds coming from more decentralized market participants. The crypto market has always prioritized value storage, with smart contract chains coming second; ETH's position is weaker than BTC's, and SOL's challenge to ETH is greater than any asset's challenge to BTC.

David Sacks: Opposes using regulatory uncertainty to suppress open-source AI, warns that the AI duopoly is seeking to eliminate competition

David Sacks, Chairman of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, stated on the X platform that using regulatory uncertainty as a competitive tool is "completely unacceptable." Regulatory decisions should be based on facts, logic, and evidence, rather than deliberately creating fear and uncertainty (FUD). He is unsure whether venture capitalist and AI policy researcher Dean Ball is acknowledging a strategy of "regulatory capture" or merely predicting that such a situation will occur. However, in any case, the practice of issuing "soft law" warnings through regulatory agencies to create market panic, thereby forcing regulated companies away from Chinese open-source models, should not be accepted.David Sacks pointed out that Dean Ball believes there is no need to directly ban Chinese open-source models; it is sufficient to guide regulatory agencies to issue relevant warnings, which can influence corporate decision-making by creating enough doubt and uncertainty, and these reasons "do not even need to be very substantial." Any regulatory decision must have sufficient basis, rather than implementing policies by "artificially creating doubt." He warned that this practice of circumventing public deliberation procedures not only undermines the foundation of the rule of law but may also open the door to regulatory abuse against any company or individual in the future.David Sacks further stated that current AI policy is at a critical turning point. Leading closed-source laboratories, which have already formed a duopoly in AI model revenue, are attempting to use government power to eliminate open-source competitors. He called on other companies and developers in Silicon Valley that still support open competition to make clear statements to jointly maintain an open ecosystem in the field of AI.
