Metaplanet has been approved to control the Nasdaq-listed company SLE, successfully achieving its listing layout in the United States

Metaplanet founder and CEO Simon Gerovich announced that the transaction between Metaplanet and Super League Enterprise, Inc. (NASDAQ: SLE) has been formally approved at the company's shareholder meeting. This move marks a key step for Metaplanet in transforming from a Bitcoin treasury company to a global Bitcoin-native financial platform. It is reported that Metaplanet injected 2,100 Bitcoins and $2.5 million in cash into the NASDAQ-listed company Super League Enterprise (SLE), with a total value of approximately $134.6 million, in exchange for a controlling stake. In return, Metaplanet received approximately 44.86 million newly issued shares of common stock (at $3 per share), as well as preferred stock and warrants. After the transaction is completed, Metaplanet will hold about 95.7% of SLE's issued common stock, becoming its controlling shareholder.According to Gerovich, after the transaction is completed, Superplanet will serve as Metaplanet's Bitcoin treasury platform listed in the United States, which will enable it to directly access the U.S. capital markets and gain more agile and flexible financing capabilities. Strategically, combined with Metaplanet Securities established in Japan, this approval will provide the company with complementary platforms in the two most important capital markets globally (the U.S. and Japan). This will not only facilitate its international financing and capital allocation but also further advance its business expansion in areas such as Bitcoin treasury, financial services, financial products, and asset management. Gerovich stated that this is a new milestone on Metaplanet's long-term growth path, and the company will continue to update the public on the latest progress regarding the completion of this transaction.

first_img Zuckerberg: AI investment could reach 200 billion USD, with uncertain success or failure

According to a report by Bloomberg cited by Phoenix Technology, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated in the podcast "Cheeky Pint" aired on Monday that the company had to commit to investing about $100 billion or $200 billion in infrastructure last year when it was still unclear whether AI products could succeed. He said, "We can't be sure either."Zuckerberg recalled that he had asked Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang if he was certain of success. Wang stated that aside from "intuitive judgment," there was no guarantee of success, and at that time it was "completely uncertain." Chief Financial Officer Susan Li repeatedly warned that the cost of failure would be extremely high, and Zuckerberg told Wang, "I think Susan scared you quite a bit."On Monday, Meta released a new AI model, claiming a significant leap in performance and possessing "cutting-edge capabilities." Management stated that it could compete with ChatGPT and Claude in programming and financial and legal issues. Meta also launched a personalized intelligent agent called Muse for shopping, ticket booking, and appointments. Zuckerberg mentioned that he was uncertain about consumer reactions and expected further iterations. Meta will announce its third-quarter financial report after the U.S. stock market closes on October 21. Last quarter, free cash flow fell to its lowest level in years, and the stock price dropped by 8%, but as of Monday's close, it has risen over 12% this year.

The success rate of the Zhipu legal model is nearly three times higher, and the testing cost is about one-seventieth of that of its competitors

The artificial intelligence company Zhipu released a legal-specific model GLM-Legal, which is further trained based on GLM-5.3-Flash. In the Harvey LAB evaluation covering 24 categories of legal services, the task pass rate increased from 6.7% to 19.2%, nearly tripling the original version, surpassing models like Kimi K3 and Claude Fable 5, and ranking seventh on the Vals AI leaderboard. When reviewing software service contracts, GLM-Legal suggested shortening the termination notice period from 60 days to 30 days and required service providers to offer up to 90 days of handover support. In another software project dispute involving 40 documents, it found that the company reported to the client that the project was 60% complete, while internal records indicated only about 41%. It also identified emails from the CEO requesting to conceal risks and continue charging, and analyzed potential legal liabilities in conjunction with contract terms.According to independent evaluations by Vals AI, the cost for GLM-Legal to complete a test is $0.15, while the closely performing Gemini 4 Argon costs $10.55, a cost difference of about 70 times. GLM-Legal took an average of 72 minutes, while the latter took 44 minutes. Zhipu stated that the model was trained specifically on legal data and conducted reinforcement learning in tens of thousands of simulated legal environments. Currently, GLM-Legal requires an API trial application.
