According to CoinDesk, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen told CoinDesk that Bitget is in talks with several large global financial institutions, including BlackRock, to help expand the distribution of digital asset products in Asia. Gracy Chen cited BlackRock, the world's largest asset management company, as an example, stating that it hopes to expand the distribution of tokenized ETFs in Asia and mentioned, "We maintain very close communication with BlackRock regarding distribution in the Asian market."A spokesperson for BlackRock responded that the company's cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) have been launched in Asia and confirmed that it regularly collaborates with virtual asset service providers on different projects, but did not comment on specific expansion plans in the Asian market. According to an OECD report, as of June 2025, the trading volume of blockchain cryptocurrency assets in Asia is expected to grow by 69% year-on-year, the highest growth rate among all global regions.BlackRock manages assets totaling $11.6 trillion. At the 2026 Hong Kong Consensus conference, Nicholas Peach, head of BlackRock's Asia-Pacific iShares division, stated that Asian household wealth is approximately $108 trillion, and even if only 1% is allocated to cryptocurrency assets, it could lead to nearly $2 trillion in inflows. Bitget has 125 million registered users globally, with about half located in East Asia and Southeast Asia. Company data from Q1 2026 shows that 52% of users hold both cryptocurrencies and traditional stocks.

hot_img In the first half of the year, cryptocurrency TradFi transactions exceeded $1.3 trillion, with the exchange landscape shifting from a unipolar concentration to a multipolar distribution

According to a research report published by RootData Research, the total trading volume of mainstream cryptocurrency exchanges in the TradFi sector surpassed $1.3 trillion in the first half of 2026, nearly a tenfold increase compared to the entire year of 2025, with TradFi derivatives accounting for over 98%, becoming the core engine driving the explosive growth of the sector. The exchange landscape is shifting from "unipolar concentration" to multipolar competition. Binance, while maintaining a leading position in the TradFi sector with a cumulative share of 68.3%, saw its monthly trading volume share decline from 78.8% at the beginning of the year to 58.2% in August. Meanwhile, second-tier exchanges such as OKX, Gate, and Hyperliquid are rapidly expanding, with market shares of 18.2%, 10.7%, and 9.9% respectively in August. In the core submarket of stock derivatives, entering August, Binance still dominated with an average daily trading volume of $14.927 billion; OKX established an advantage in trading costs with the industry's lowest spread of 0.0091%, achieving a comprehensive score tied for second with Gate. Gate has recently shown independent growth, recording four consecutive months of triple-digit month-on-month growth from May to August, and in mid-August, its ±2% weighted depth ranked first in the industry for 11 consecutive trading days. The competitive logic of the TradFi sector may be shifting from a battle for traffic to a competition across comprehensive dimensions such as position size, market depth, trading costs, and variety coverage.

first_img Gemini reaches an agreement with Apex to expand the distribution of the prediction market

According to CoinDesk, the cryptocurrency platform Gemini, founded by the Winklevoss twins, announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Apex Fintech Solutions to distribute regulated crypto prediction market contracts to brokerage clients through Apex's futures commission merchant (FCM). Under the arrangement, the subsidiary Gemini Titan will become the exclusive regulated trading venue for distributing crypto event contracts via Apex FCM, with Gemini responsible for execution and clearing, allowing brokers using Apex to offer related products without having to build their own connections to the prediction market exchange. This collaboration builds on Gemini's efforts to advance regulated prediction market layouts. Gemini Titan received a CFTC-designated contract market license in December 2025, and Gemini Olympus obtained a derivatives clearing organization license in April 2025. The two parties already have a foundation for cooperation, as Gemini launched commission-free stock trading for some U.S. clients in July, with Apex Clearing Corporation serving as the custodian and clearing broker. The company expects to finalize details in the coming weeks.Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss stated that he believes prediction is the future of the market. The report also mentioned the overall growth in trading volume in prediction markets, as well as the prediction market-related Command Center AI feature previously launched by Gemini.

Samsung plans to turn 800 million Galaxy phones into stablecoin wallets, potentially becoming the world's largest stablecoin distribution gateway

Analysts say that Samsung is accelerating its layout of digital asset infrastructure, planning to provide native stablecoin functionality to approximately 800 million Galaxy smartphones through Samsung Wallet, which is expected to become an important distribution channel for stablecoins like USDC. It is reported that Samsung announced at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event that it will integrate stablecoin-related features into future devices, including savings and payment accounts linked to fiat currencies. Currently, Samsung Wallet covers 61 countries, with nearly 19 million users in South Korea.Joseph Goh, head of the Asia-Pacific region for crypto investment bank Areta, stated that the core bottleneck for the widespread adoption of stablecoins is not liquidity, but user accessibility. "Distribution channels are the scarce asset, and Samsung has a large number of user entry points." He believes this move could propel Samsung to become a major distributor of stablecoins like USDC. This is not Samsung's first foray into the crypto space. The company launched a digital asset wallet through the Knox security module back in 2019, supporting users in storing assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum, and connecting to Ledger hardware wallets. Additionally, Samsung is strengthening its digital asset infrastructure layout. Samsung SDS CEO Lee Joon-hee previously stated that the company’s investment in Dunamu, the operator of South Korea's largest crypto exchange Upbit, is an important strategic layout for entering the digital asset infrastructure field, including stablecoins and AI payments. In May of this year, Samsung Securities, Samsung SDS, and Samsung Card agreed to acquire approximately 4% of Dunamu, Upbit's parent company, for about $408 million. Analysts believe that Samsung Wallet is responsible for providing user distribution entry points, while infrastructure layouts like Dunamu are responsible for underlying transactions and asset services, suggesting that Samsung may be building a complete ecosystem covering stablecoins, payments, and digital asset services.
