first_img IBM will connect Digital Asset Haven to the Swift shared ledger, supporting tokenized deposit transactions

IBM announced that customers of its digital asset management platform IBM Digital Asset Haven can now connect to permissioned blockchain networks, including the blockchain-based shared ledger from Swift. A new beta version of the ISO 20022 message adapter allows financial institutions to initiate tokenized deposit transactions through this ledger using standard payment messages. IBM stated that financial institutions participating in Swift-related programs have tested tokenized deposits on this ledger using Digital Asset Haven. The ledger supports tokenized deposits issued by banks, enabling participating IBM clients to transfer digital assets around the clock, with final settlement still completed through existing systems.Swift first announced this ledger at Sibos 2025, based on a prototype developed in collaboration with Consensys, with over 40 financial institutions involved in its design, 17 of which are participating in the tokenized deposit pilot. Swift currently connects over 12,500 financial institutions across more than 200 markets worldwide. The aforementioned message adapter allows banks to continue using existing payment message formats and operational processes without adopting blockchain-specific workflows.IBM is also expanding Digital Asset Haven to a localized deployment beta version, which can be installed on IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE in the client's own data center for managing digital assets such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits, without relying on public cloud infrastructure. IBM stated that the platform and key management layer are fully retained within the client's own environment, with keys protected by IBM Crypto Express hardware security modules.

MYSTEN Labs co-founder Kostas Kryptos participates in the establishment of the cryptocurrency trading platform Havenex: Series A financing is about to be completed

The Sui development team co-founder of Mysten Labs, Kostas Kryptos, stated that Havenex is undergoing Series A financing and is about to complete it. All necessary license applications and some additional license applications have been submitted, and the financing amount is also close to being fully allocated.Havenex is not positioned to become another Coinbase, Binance, Bybit, or Kraken, but rather to provide infrastructure for financial institutions, enabling them to offer digital assets and traditional financial assets to clients while meeting regulatory, custody, security, and transparency requirements. Havenex plans to support a multi-chain architecture, verifiable custody, continuous solvency proof, default multi-signature, quantum-resistant keys, hardware two-factor authentication wallets, as well as self-custody and key loss protection mechanisms; in regions where regulations allow, it will also support privacy assets and RWA. The project will use Sui technology in suitable scenarios while integrating assets, bridging protocols, and foundational components from other ecosystems. The concept of Havenex was proposed by him, and he will currently participate as an advisor, but Mysten Labs and Sui remain his main focus. He stated that the project aims to establish transparency and security standards different from those of FTX and Mt. Gox, and to reduce the serious vulnerability risks caused by code generated by large language models recently.

UMX, incubated by Avenir Group under Li Lin, has launched public testing, bridging cryptocurrency assets and securities trading

On August 10, UMX (The Unified Market Exchange), incubated by Avenir Group under Li Lin, announced the launch of an invitation-only public beta. UMX is positioned as a crypto-friendly securities platform for global professional investors, supporting spot, leverage, contract, and options trading of crypto assets, while also supporting real US stocks, ETFs, and US stock options trading. The aim is to connect crypto assets and real securities trading on the same platform, enhancing the capital efficiency of cross-asset trading. The public beta focuses on opening the capital link between crypto assets and securities accounts, supporting functions such as stablecoin exchange transfers, non-stablecoin collateralized lending, fiat account withdrawals and deposits, and the mutual conversion of securities holdings and stock tokens. To enhance cross-asset capital efficiency, the platform introduces a cross-asset margin mechanism, allowing financial assets to be used as margin. During the public beta, BTC and USDT financial products will also be launched, with the highest annualized returns reaching 2.5% and 5.5%, respectively. This public beta is invitation-only, and users who have not yet obtained a public beta code can reserve the official version and participate in the early bird benefits program.
