Huobi HTX Chief Analyst Cloud: The Bitcoin pullback is a normal retracement, and the differentiation of altcoins may continue until this week's data is released

The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield returned to above 5.2% overnight, reaching a high not seen since 2007, putting pressure on global risk assets. Bitcoin has fallen back to around $83,000, with altcoins experiencing even larger declines. In this regard, Cloud, the chief analyst at Huobi HTX, believes that this drop is more akin to a normal pullback after a rebound and does not constitute the starting point of a trend reversal. The high U.S. Treasury yields mainly suppress valuations, with limited impact on the overall liquidity. The funding structure and holding costs of the crypto market itself have also not been disrupted. This round of decline seems more like a clearing of positions before key data is released.It is important to be cautious about the divergence between Bitcoin and altcoins. During a phase of marginal liquidity tightening, funds tend to concentrate on the most certain top assets; altcoins lack incremental funds to support them, and with heavier leverage, their pullbacks are therefore amplified. This divergence is likely to continue before the release of this week's PCE and non-farm data. If the data falls short of expectations, altcoins will have greater elasticity and thus higher risks; if the data exceeds expectations, Bitcoin's relative strength will be more pronounced. Whether Bitcoin can stabilize at key support levels will be the main signal to determine if this round of pullback has ended.Note: The content of this article does not constitute investment advice, nor does it constitute any offer, solicitation, or recommendation of investment products.

The Democratic Party of the United States is investigating Trump's cryptocurrency interests, extending to Binance and Tether

The Democratic investigators of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations of the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs released a report accusing USDT of becoming an important financial conduit for Iran's shadow banking system, and called for the Treasury Department and the Justice Department to investigate whether Tether violated sanctions and banking laws. The report mentioned Tether's relationship with the Trump administration, including business dealings between Tether and Cantor Fitzgerald, controlled by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick's family, as well as Bo Hines, the former head of the White House Cryptocurrency Committee, serving as Tether's head of U.S. operations.This report continues the Democratic investigation into the Trump family's cryptocurrency business. In May 2025, Richard Blumenthal launched an investigation into TRUMP, the token holders' dinner, and World Liberty Financial; in June, Elizabeth Warren and Jeff Merkley demanded explanations from MGX and Binance on why they used the Trump family-affiliated stablecoin USD1 to settle a $2 billion investment. In November, the Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee released a report accusing the Trump family of profiting from cryptocurrency businesses such as WLFI and TRUMP, describing regulatory rollbacks, termination of enforcement, and pardons for related individuals as a form of benefit transfer, claiming their cryptocurrency assets were valued at up to $11.6 billion, with related revenues exceeding $800 million in the first half of 2025.In 2026, Ro Khanna investigated reports that members of the UAE royal family spent $500 million to acquire a 49% stake in WLFI, and whether this transaction was related to U.S. policies on AI chips in the UAE;

first_img NEAR Intents: Frozen $503,000 of stolen funds from Bitget

Cross-chain trading protocol NEAR Intents stated in a post on X that on September 24, Bitget was attacked, resulting in approximately $387.5 million in funds being stolen, most of which were aggregated into Ethereum and converted to ETH. The hacker attempted to transfer over $50 million through NEAR Intents, but ultimately only $166,000 was successfully transferred, while $503,000 was intercepted during the execution process.NEAR Intents indicated that the relevant data comes from on-chain tracking tools, Arkham, internal logs, and risk control layer SHIELD, among other sources. The figures listed are rounded estimates, with an assessment deviation of no more than 10%. SHIELD identified over $50 million in money laundering attempts and has filtered out duplicate flows, of which $166,000 has been successfully transferred, while another $503,000 was frozen midway through execution and remains restricted, pending legal and recovery procedures.NEAR Intents stated: permissionless does not equal neutral, the team refuses to assist in cashing out stolen assets and will forgo the bounty from this incident to allow Bitget to recover funds as much as possible. Bitget previously established a 5% + 5% bounty arrangement. NEAR Intents also mentioned that the protocol will remain permissionless but set boundaries, and will combat money laundering of stolen funds, while suggesting Bitget contact legal and law enforcement channels to handle the frozen funds.

first_img Florida requests the court to prohibit OpenAI from unsupervised development of new models

According to a report by Reuters on September 28, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier requested a judge on Monday to prohibit OpenAI from developing new artificial intelligence models without external oversight. This request is part of the state's lawsuit accusing OpenAI of harming children. Uthmeier also asked the court to order OpenAI to prohibit minors from using ChatGPT and to prevent the company from attributing human characteristics to the chat platform.Florida sued OpenAI in June, accusing it of misrepresenting the safety of ChatGPT, claiming that the platform provided information to school shooters, offered guidance on self-harm, and made young users addicted. The lawsuit was triggered by a shooting incident at a university in Tallahassee last year, as well as several other incidents in other states where it was alleged that ChatGPT provided information to individuals who later committed acts of violence. Uthmeier, a Republican, is also the first state attorney general to sue OpenAI over its impact on young users, and the company is facing related lawsuits filed by individuals and families.OpenAI spokesperson Drew Pusateri stated that the company has paused training its most powerful models and will not resume until additional safety measures are implemented, expressing a willingness to work with Florida and other states to promote pragmatic policies applicable across the industry. The company denies responsibility in these cases, stating that the chatbot provides information widely available online and continuously updates its safety tools. The request also cited recent comments from a former OpenAI employee and a current board member, stating that the development of artificial intelligence could lead to the end of humanity and must be slowed down.
