Zhao Changpeng: Does not oppose Hyperliquid, welcomes more DEX to participate in competition

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao stated during his appearance on the podcast "When Shift Happens" that he does not oppose Hyperliquid and welcomes more centralized and decentralized trading platforms to participate in innovation, as the industry is far from saturated. He estimates that the proportion of the population holding some form of cryptocurrency is about 5% to 15%, but when calculated based on individual wealth allocation, the penetration rate of cryptocurrency assets may be less than 1%, indicating that the industry is still in its early stages.Changpeng Zhao mentioned that some members of the Hyperliquid community are trying to establish their own community by criticizing centralized trading platforms and Binance, but he views this as normal competition and does not oppose the project. Previously, Trump mentioned Hyperliquid, which is very good for the industry. Assets like HYPE, BNB, and Bitcoin could all benefit from the overall growth of the industry.Changpeng Zhao also pointed out that first movers do not necessarily become the long-term biggest winners. Google, Facebook, and Binance were not the first products in their respective fields, and later entrants can often further optimize based on the groundwork laid by the pioneers. Although he holds a significant amount of Binance shares and BNB, the centralized trading platform is just part of his asset allocation; rather than expanding a single platform, he hopes to promote the growth of the entire cryptocurrency industry.

The on-chain perpetual contract protocol Travix has completed its seed round financing, with participation from Amber Group

Recently, the on-chain perpetual contract protocol Travix, which focuses on computing power asset trading, completed its seed round financing. The disclosed investor in this round is Amber Group, but the financing amount has not been disclosed. The funds will be used to accelerate the deep construction of perpetual contracts for computing power assets and exotic assets such as East Asian stocks, expand trading pairs for Compute-Led RWA like chips and storage, promote the development of the "Financial World Model," deepen the development and deployment of a trusted AI agent trading engine, and expand global markets and multilateral ecological construction as well as launch trading promotion incentive programs. It is reported that Travix is a new generation PerpDEX protocol built on a modular blockchain architecture, adopting a hybrid architecture of offline high-performance matching and on-chain settlement, achieving millisecond-level processing efficiency, and introducing a unified account management model. Its core directions include: perpetual contracts for computing power assets, supporting hardware asset trading such as H100 chips and storage; the Financial World Model, which transforms probabilistic events such as policy implementation and product launches into quantifiable event trading signals; and trusted AI agent trading, supporting users in deploying automated strategies through the Agent Engine.Travix claims that its goal is to achieve the integration of computing power assets, probabilistic trading, and trusted agents, creating a new generation of decentralized perpetual contract entry point where "trading is understanding the world."

first_img The European Central Bank calls on e-commerce merchants to participate in the digital euro pilot, aiming for issuance in 2029

According to CoinDesk, the European Central Bank (ECB) called on e-commerce and mobile commerce merchants in the Eurozone on Tuesday to participate in the digital euro pilot program, preparing for the potential issuance of a retail central bank digital currency in 2029. The pilot will test the technology, operational processes, and user experience of the currency's beta version, which, while similar to the digital euro, is not legal tender. The pilot will last for 12 months and is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2027, with the final issuance still requiring legislative and management committee decisions. In the weeks prior, the European Central Bank selected 36 banks and payment institutions to participate in the testing phase. The pilot will involve the European Central Bank, the central banks of 19 Eurozone countries, and selected merchants, with central bank staff testing scenarios such as online and offline transfers between individuals, in-store payments, e-commerce, and mobile commerce payments.European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde stated that the digital euro is essential for maintaining European monetary sovereignty and reducing dependence on dollar-pegged stablecoins. The European Central Bank believes that the proliferation of private dollar stablecoins like Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC poses a threat to European monetary autonomy. Isadora Arredondo, Vice President of Global Policy at Hedera, stated that the success of the digital euro depends more on commercial viability, and merchants need incentives, while payment service providers may consider lowering the fees for merchants accepting digital euro payments.

first_img Stablecoin payment startup Velocity completed a $10 million Series A extension round financing with a valuation of $200 million, with participation from Visa Ventures and others

According to CoinDesk, stablecoin payment startup Velocity announced that it has completed a total of $48 million in Series A funding, with a valuation of $200 million. This round includes an additional $10 million investment from Visa Ventures, Circle Ventures, Haun Ventures, Ripple, Translink Capital, and Mirana Ventures. Previously, the company completed $38 million in Series A funding in July.Velocity is headquartered in London, and its platform aims to help payment companies and banks use stablecoins for settlement, liquidity, and fund management without replacing existing systems. CEO Eric Queathem, who previously worked at Worldpay, which handled over $2 trillion in payment volume annually, believes that for the past 15 years, capital has been concentrated on improving the consumer front-end experience, while the back-end settlement layer has been neglected.Visa's involvement is particularly noteworthy, as Velocity does not believe that stablecoins will replace bank cards, but rather expects blockchain digital assets to take on more funding and settlement functions beneath the existing payment experience. Queathem anticipates that in the next five years, global enterprises will hold on-chain assets, and the partial on-chain funding of enterprises will create a greater infrastructure demand than merely stablecoin deposits and withdrawals.
