Bitcoin.com exclusive interview with Gate founder and CEO Dr. Han: Creating an integrated financial application Gate Money, reshaping the experience of capital flow

Recently, Gate founder and CEO Dr. Han accepted an exclusive interview with the cryptocurrency media Bitcoin.com, reflecting on Gate's journey from developing its underlying trading system in 2013 to becoming a platform serving over 61 million users across more than 130 countries and regions. He further elaborated on the strategic vision of the TOKEN2049 keynote speech "One Gate, Everything Money."Dr. Han stated that in the face of the long-standing barriers between traditional finance and the cryptocurrency market, users have often faced the dilemma of fragmented capital management. They not only need to frequently transfer funds between banks, brokerages, and cryptocurrency platforms but also have to keep a large amount of cash idle in bank accounts, suffering losses from inflation and lack of returns. Meanwhile, high-quality assets like stocks and gold are difficult to consume immediately due to liquidity constraints. To address this industry pain point, Gate officially launched the integrated financial application Gate Money, which consolidates fiat currency, cryptocurrency assets, gold, ETFs, and over 12,800 global stocks into a single account. Users no longer need to hold large amounts of low-yield idle cash and can allocate capital to high-quality assets with value preservation and appreciation potential. When a consumption demand arises, the system will instantly convert the corresponding assets into fiat currency for payment, keeping the funds in an investment state before consumption.

first_img Binance VIP Head: Traditional hedge funds are actively exploring arbitrage opportunities on cryptocurrency platforms

Catherine Chen, the head of VIP and institutional business at Binance, stated in an interview with The Block during Token2049 that traditional hedge funds, which previously took a wait-and-see approach, are now showing a stronger interest due to the emergence of arbitrage opportunities related to traditional financial instruments such as cash stocks and perpetual contracts on crypto platforms. She pointed out that the improvement in market depth, combined with 24/7 trading and weekend price discovery mechanisms, makes these opportunities more realistic. She also mentioned that when the same tools are offered on second- and third-tier platforms or in DeFi venues, liquidity often falls short of hedge funds' needs. However, she emphasized that this process is still in its early stages and does not expect a surge in capital inflows overnight, with the next 12 to 18 months being worth close attention.Similar changes are happening on the other side of the market. Chen indicated that their crypto-native clients are incorporating more tools linked to traditional financial products to build hybrid investment portfolios. The data she cited showed that the scale of Binance's cash stock assets has increased from about $800 million to $900 million to $1.4 billion, while the trading volume of traditional financial perpetual contracts has risen from about $20 billion to $30 billion per month when launched at the beginning of this year to about $400 billion every 30 days. She believes that tokenization and cross-asset trading are still in their early stages, and regulatory clarity will determine the ultimate integration of traditional and crypto trading more than the product offerings of a single platform.

first_img Cuomo: The cryptocurrency industry bets heavily on the Republican Party, distancing itself from the Democratic Party

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated during a panel discussion at the Token2049 conference with OKX CEO Star Xu that if the cryptocurrency industry wants to push for federal-level cryptocurrency legislation, it must maintain a balance between supporting the Democratic and Republican parties. He pointed out that the industry previously "believed that heavy investment in the Republican Party" would help pass the CLARITY Act, but "when you heavily invest in the Republican Party, you inherently alienate the Democratic Party."According to data tracked by Tech Influence Watch, cryptocurrency-related political action committees have spent $54.3 million supporting the Republican Party and $26.2 million supporting the Democratic Party in the 2026 election cycle, with an additional $23.2 million spent opposing Democratic candidates. Cuomo stated that passing legislation requires support from both the Democratic and Republican parties and should be more balanced. He also refuted the notion that the Democratic Party is inherently opposed to cryptocurrency, arguing that cryptocurrency is actually well-suited for the Democratic Party because it empowers individuals who previously could not access financial products. Prediction market Kalshi data shows that the probability of the Democratic Party winning both houses of Congress is about 61%.In terms of background, the House of Representatives passed the CLARITY Act in July 2025 with the support of 78 Democratic representatives and 216 Republican representatives, while 134 Democratic representatives voted against it; in June 2025, the Senate passed the GENIUS Act with support from 18 Democratic senators.

first_img Canton CEO: The cryptocurrency industry needs to solidify adoption before 2028 to withstand shifts in U.S. policy

Digital Asset co-founder and CEO Yuval Rooz stated at the Token2049 conference in Singapore that the crypto industry should leverage the current regulatory environment to accelerate institutional adoption, believing that the widespread use of blockchain will make it harder for future governments to reverse industry progress. He compared this opportunity to Uber and Airbnb, stating that both companies had established themselves before policymakers effectively restricted them, saying, "By the time people react and decide to legislate against these companies, it will be too late."Rooz indicated that the industry should ensure blockchain is widely used so that no matter what happens in 2028, "there is no turning back." The next U.S. presidential election is scheduled for November 7, 2028, which may bring changes in government and regulatory priorities. This statement comes in the context of the CLARITY Act failing to advance in the Senate procedural vote in September, while the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have been advancing crypto regulation based on existing authority. In the same Token2049 panel discussion, Binance co-CEO Richard Teng expressed hope that the CLARITY Act could still become law, believing that legislation could prevent regulatory backtracking and encourage institutional entry, calling the possibility of reversing current progress the industry's "greatest fear." Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson stated that legislation would provide greater certainty, but the industry should not rely on the passage of the CLARITY Act, as the SEC and CFTC are already working to provide regulatory clarity to sustain innovation and institutional adoption.
